In relation to the companies you've blacklisted what are your favourite companies to directly deal with?

For me it has to be Logitech. I have never experienced such excellent CS. They've replaced my dinovo keyboard set 3 times without any questions, the last one they sent was the upgraded laser version. They've also replaced my Z-5500's, again no questions asked delivered and picked up within a few days.

I will continue to buy all my peripheral related goods from Logitech, their Customer Service is out of this world!

Fortunately that's the only company I've contacted directly. The rest are usually via the store you buy from.

Share your experiences :)

Mine was from belinea

Rang them with my problem, the next day a courier turned up to take mine away and give me a new one

very good service.

WORST = Western Digital

Crucial.

Posted the duff memory on a Tuesday afternoon and received its replacements on the Thursday morning.

Enermax, my power supply blew up week before Christmas, sent them an email after the Christmas holiday got a reply next day saying what to do, sent it off on the Monday received new one on Wednesday the same week.

Good Cus. Ser: Logitech & Crucial

Worst: Viewsonic...waited for 3 weeks for them to send me out a replacement VX912, when it didn't arrive, wrote a very strong email, and sent it to 3 different departments, had a phonecall a few hours later, and a replacement sent that day...I suppose they did redeem themselves to some extent.

I'm generally pretty lucky in regards to hardware and rarely need to rma anything (I've just cursed myself;)).

However the best companies i've dealt with for RMA's have to be

Logitech - replacement keyboard/mouse set sent when my Desktop MX set stopped charging (I just had to send the cut of plugs and feet back).
Crucial - a couple of RMA's for faulty memory, one for some that was about 4 years of, every time they've had the replacement sent out next working after receiving the faulty stuff.
Samsung/Rexo - i've had a few dodgy drives and had to rma them, in each case they've sent the replacements out same day they've received the RMA package (drive fails monday, sent off tuesday, returned thursday).

There is one hardware company I would be very wary of dealing with again as i've just had a 6 week+ rma for a part that should have taken less than 5 minutes to test - they lost the package upon receipt and it took 4 weeks for them to admit it, and a further 2 weeks of chasing up for them to get a replacement sent.

Strange, I can't think of an occasion of having to contact a manufacturer bar Sony for my laptop, I usually send the stuff back to the webstore.

found viewsonic to be great, called them on a monday about a faulty monitor, they collected it that evening and i had a brand new replacement 2 days later. i also rate logitech very higly.

Abit were very good for replacing a year old mobo with a BIOS fault, FOC. Also another vote for Crucial.

Worst: Micorsoft, had a problem with a Habu mouse and firmware, took over an hour ont he phone, cost me £7 and I fixed the mouse myself. No call backs as promised. In the end they came good and gave me a free copy of Flight sim, it's really really boring though.

Acer got my vote, my laptop broke they organized a courier bright eyed and bushy tailed the next morning, and laptop back with a brand spanking new cd drive and even a tad better than the original well chuffed.

Broke one of the cables on my OCZ PSU and emailed of to customer support in Holland, and got a replacement first class post within the week FOC :)

how long had you had the speakers from Logitech? (over a year?) -warranty is two years i know

they kicked up a fuss before, and made me contact the reseller instead of them directly.. :S

Logitech replaced my G15 (all keys started to lose the paint that tells 'em apart!) within three days by courier, took one quick phonecall. Oh yeah, and they let me keep the old one-handy spare kboard fer testing.
The only other thing I've RMA'd, in 10 years, was a Gainward 6800-would Oclock like mad, but was never that stable. OCUK refunded my dough, no questions asked.
Pretty much been a happy punter TBH.

Not exaclty computer hardware but:

I cracked the LCD on my iRiver H120 about 3 years ago. I sent an email with a picture to the warranty department in California. I didn't claim accidental damage (it was quite obvious from the pic that I'd just cracked it) but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway.

They sent me a brand new, fully boxed model all the way from the USA, completely free of charge. It was with me within a week.:)

Antec have been pretty good with RMAs too.
