Its a *laptop*. If you want every ounce of speed, then a desktop replacement is what you need. Loading a game isn't significantly faster, if its more than 5 seconds for any game I would be very surprised. Transferring files from one part of an HD to another is more about seek time than spin speed. Transferring files to or from the laptop will either be through wireless (slow) or 100mbit LAN (still not fast enough to saturate the sustained speed of a 4,200rpm drive).
However, the 7600 @ GT speeds will be pretty fast. Would explain why the battery life is rather poor.
I guess its a case of what you want your laptop for. I travel almost daily with mine, but I also love games. So it had to be strong, but powerful and light. If I wanted the laptop to be my primary PC, then... I wouldn't get a laptop. In a years time you're stuffed since you can't upgrade. The integration you get with a major company is very impressive, previously I had always gone down the performance/price > quality & brand route. However, the integration you get is exceptional. Utility tools, strong encryption, identity manager so once you've logged in, it automatically fills in the login credentials for everything else, BIOS settings access from within Windows, automatic backup, the works! Most important for me though was the magnesium frame since my previous laptop ended up with a cracked screen. This lappy's screen is very strong and always cold due to the metal
What do you consider the most important aspects for YOU? Remember as long as the laptop can play the occasional game that should be enough. Your PC is for real gaming, the laptop is for gaming when you need a fix

It'll be outdated very quickly.
