Best mayo for fries

Nothing to do with fries but I fancy making an egg and Hellmann's Coronation mayo sandwich after watching this vid, sandwich action at 1:45

Friends and I did a blind taste test of a bunch of baseline mayos.

Heinz/Hellmans/Kewpie/Tesco own/Sainsburys own/Lidl own/Waitrose own.

Kewpie and Hellmans joint 1st
Waitrose
Sainsburys
Heinz
Tesco
Lidl

One person was adamant that Heinz was the best, and was certain they would be able to pick it out, and they managed to score it second lowest :D
I said Kewpie would win :)

I make similar to that quite a bit. Only I use natural yoghurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt & pepper.

Try natural yoghurt instead of oil. Works for chips and especially kebab meat.

Nom nom nom :D

Here's a little cheffy tip for you that will make your recipe 100% better and much more scrummy/sweet/less harsh. Instead of just mincing your raw garlic you should try roasting it first. Get a whole garlic bulb and trim the top of the bulb with a very sharp knife to reveal the flesh of the cloves. Drizzle a little oil over and bake in a low heat oven for approx 1 hour. The flesh of the cloves will have turned into a very soft puree you can just squeeze out of the skins with a finger/thumb. The flavour is another level to raw garlic.

Chicken karaage + kewpie = mouthgasm.

Ooh, you naughty minx but I'm unsure of your gender/orientation so I'm playing it safe with a neutral reply in todays' sensitive modern circus so as not to cause offence.

I love foody mouthgasms but with rules and gender bias under control

I'm a hetero male FYI with no discrimination :)

This is the best store bought I've found "Delouis Mayonnaise". Doesn't have sugar in like others, the price has gone up a bit in the last year or so though. Actually tastes of something rather Heinz/Hellmans.

I bought Stokes Real Mayonnaise today to give it a try as it was on offer.

The Stokes Real Mayonnaise is no better than a Hellmans/Heinz. The Delouis mayo definitely seems the best availabe in a store, if not making it yourself.
