Best Mp3 playing software?

iTunes for Windows does suck pretty bad, shame I have to install it for my iPod. Might try songbird in a VM see what its like, if its good it might replace Winamp on my machines.

Would tell ya, but my PC just broke :/.

I don't understand why people care how much RAM their music player uses? I mean, even if you have photoshop, firefox & msn open at the same time, it's not exactly going to matter much?

That said - I am running 4GB :)
Because last time I ran Songbird it took up almost 300Mb of RAM and my PC ran quite slow as a result.

Thread Title: Can of worms open all over the floor!!!...

Songbird has iPod build-in (plugin included with setup) support - just incase you were wondering.

So does Winamp v5!... or theres another plugin that expands on the basic interface for your iPod called mlipod.dll (just google it!!)... works like a treat!..

I don't use anything else! I Tried: iTunes (got rid of that pretty sharpish) Fubar (Complicated to get how I want it!), MonkeyMedia (Just like Winamp but too basic!), Songbird (Works better on Linux) etc... but I always come back to Winamp!!..

I even use WMPC-HC instead of WMP for Vids/DVD's (I wish I could un-install it!!)

Thanks guys, tried Songbird looks like a copy of itunes and a bit limited, so took the plunge and downloaded Winamp, not used this for a long time and wow it has improved greatly looks and runs great :)

It's not crappy effects it's highly tweakable treble and bass don't knock it til you tried it.
I just take it you run your sound card direct to an amp well I don't and the enhancer will get it sounding a lot better imo if you are running headphones through a pc speaker system.

Foobar is shocking for usability, half the plugins aren't even compatible with the new version.

Half the skins I try don't work correctly - I love light weight and heavy customisable software, such as MirandaIM, but Foobar is just ridiculous.

I use iTunes, but a modified install without QuickTime as I use QTA.

There is for me as I run my headphones from a logitech z4 wired remote box as the card doesn't have 2x analogue out.
And it sounds pretty poor without the plugin running through pc speaker headphone socket.

I use WMP11 because I haven't found a player which can deal with huge libraries with no slowdown (Winamp etc crashed a lot) and WMP11's folder monitoring is second to none.
