without doubt still cs source cod 4 i don't understand why people rate it so highly i think it's just the shiny new factor and unlocks.
To me it's everything that is bad and good about fps online.
bad points are :
it's a nade fest
aiming requires pretty much no skill with a lot of guns just point and hold down fire is often enough
there's no point sniping as the maps are too small and you always end up getting owned.
in general its a rush fest
the anti radar blocker doesn't seem to work
Good points:
looks great
is fun to play
unlocks are cool
that's about it you can't compare it to cs source that has more gameplay and aiming polish in it's little finger.
Too true. Gave me a better game on a 33.6 modem than most games nowadays do on ADSL. Add the original TF to that mix and you've got my favourite multiplayer FPS of all time, with Action Quake 2 a resilient second.
Currently, it'd have to be TF2. Tho I'm looking forward to trying COD4.
The best online FPS IMO is Project Reality, ( A Mod for BF2 ), other then that all other games are very booring after the first half hour, (multiplayer's anyway.
i can play PR for like 5 hours, with constant talking in Teamspeak as it has a good community. cant find any other game to play tactically etc. just mindless rubbish mostly , too much nostalgia for DFLW
Team Fortress 2, Battlefield 2, Enemy Territory Quake Wars
Also FEAR is AMAZING online. Fast, visceral, great weapons, superb looking, and some nice modes like slo mo if you want em.
Considering it is FREE, FEAR Multiplayer is one of the best uncomplicated deathmatch style shooters available....
Half Life 2 Deathmatch is best MP game ever IMO due to every game being different and full of action & intense. The servers with music and sounds on are great too (http://lesverrues.verygames.net/) & the mavity gun ...... the best weapon ever made
Then MOHAA - Especially the rapid rifle servers
TF2 is okay gets repetitive tho but then tactile also!
Aint played COD4 MP but didn't really like COD2 MP anyway as it was boring compared to MOH
