Best Music Player?

Ive only ever used Windows Media Player, is there anything better?

I use Winamp. With the ml_ipod plugin which now seems to have been built into the 5.2 version it is incredibly easy to control my iPod. I love the look and skinnability (new word I reckon) of Winamp. The Media Library is lovely too, haven't found any other music player that has a better media library feature.

I'll be different then
I use foobar, initially it looks a bit rubbish but it's skinable and very easy to use. I love being able to have a number of different playlists easily accessible by its tabbed interface.
Personally I don't bother skinning it because I always minimise it to system tray.

I use Winamp & WMP10, but I have seen screenshots of Foobar and people have made it very very nice, think I might install it again and see if I can make it look good

Should be able too, although if you can't it is because it is the Lite version.

I don't think Winamp Lite has skin support.

Probably because you don't need to spend hours messing around with plugins etc on winamp to make it look ok and do it what you want to.

If you have plenty of spare time and patience to mess around with foobar then thats the better option.

Personally I don't bother making Foobar look 'pretty'. Never needed to, all I see the interface for is to click play and stop.
Does anyone just sit and stare at their winamp skin?

you dont have to spend hours with it and it does virtually everything you want it to out of the box.

download Columns_ui, find a skin you like and that's it.

i'd like to get back to foobar, but i'll wait and see what sort of ipod support appears for the next version and support for ALAC, that and its a pain only itunes supports protected files from the itms.

at the moment i'm using itunes, and its ok, but i vastly prefer the options columns_ui offers you.

After using WinAmp for years I've gone back to Windows Media Player, it does the job plays everything I want in one package.
