Best Network Media Player?

I just sent back my Fire TV stick, it worked perfectly for about 30 minutes at a time, but would constantly buffer half way through a film - buffering every 20 seconds or so which got really annoying. I think it may have been a heat issue as it worked fine if left alone for a while.

I've just ordered the Fire TV box instead so I can use ethernet. There's an £20 off code for Amazon Prime Now deliveries in Birmingham (and London) so it ended up costing £60 instead of £80 - I missed the Fire sale they had the other day.

Just my 2 cents.
I have had both the Rasp pi 1 and 2 and whilst very good, i found they struggled with very large ISO and MKV files.
I have had an Intel NUC N2820 for over a year now, its very fast, nice and quiet and like the pi does everything. Space for an internal HDD if thats what you want.
wired to my Synology NAS and switch, tv, router etc by Cat 6 cables, all is effortless.

I do not know and people will need to commnet on this whether 4k is supported yet on it. I suspect not due to it having only HDMI 1.4 I think so far.
but newer NUCs I am sure will cater for this.
