Best non biased political newspaper?

There is none, i find that almost all articles from all places mentioned are biased, but that is not important, they are also poorly written, lacking most useful information and basically written for children.

I believe the best way to present a news story would be in bullet points, no padding, simple facts and that is all.

The times if I do read a paper which is not often. Although a 'quality' they have some very even editorials and columnists.

Yeah, there are no truly neutral sources, but The Times as you've mentioned will be the nearest you'll get.

A few of you mentioned the BBC. Not too sure there, as they tend to use weasel words e.g. Judge Mark Brown said Mr Clarke's death was "entirely avoidable" and he was "literally eaten alive" as he died in "truly horrific circumstances", (reference a recent dog attack) when really, half of those words could have been left out. The sentence as it is now is too emotive / sensationalist.

There are no 'unbiased' news sources in the world.

If you're looking for a good newspaper though, I would highly recommend The Guardian.

BBC news is probably the most unbiased source of news in the world.

I used to think so too until satellite brought French etc, stations from different parts of the world then my suspicions were confirmed..... the BBC just trots out the Govt. line on almost all foreign events. I have seen the first reports from events change within hours to the standard line. I have little respect for the BBC now, I even wonder about the truth of home news via the BBC.

EDIT: Oh, I've just noticed you wanted news in paper form. I've stopped reading papers regularly 15 years ago, I've no idea what's decent nowadays.

I stopped six-nine months after Murdoch took over the Times when I saw it dumbed down and other papers following his lead.

BBC is widely regarded as the most politically neutral and unbiased news source in the world. People on the far left and right seem to hate it with equal vigor, which is testament to how well they manage to keep things balanced.

Used to like reading The Independent, don't know what kind of person that makes me though.

These days the Indy is more left-wing than the Grauniad. As for the Times or FT being unbiased? Seriously? Both are pro-Establishment and right-wing. The Times is also pretty poor compared to past glories. There are no unbiased sources, as many have said. Most people will just quote sources which agree with their view as an example of "unbiased".

The Economist and the Independent.

Read in conjunction gives you a broader view in my experience.

Every commercial media outlet is biased. It has to be in order to attract readers and revenue.

My main concern is the severe distortion we see between fact and opinion.

I think the BBC is good when it comes to neutrality - Al Jazeera is pretty good too if you accept they are very unbiased when it comes to the Emirates and some of the other Gulf countries (at times) but in fairness a lot of their best journalists are ex-BBC.
