best (non root) adblocking solution on android

I have previously used the adblock app on a non rooted phone, which only works when using WiFi with a proxy server. Other alternatives I am aware of include using the Firefox browser with the adblock add-on or using the adblock browser. Any other options? Which do you think is best?
Is the adblock browser safe? It asks for a lot of permissions.

I have a new g4 and I believe the only way to root it at the moment Will void the warranty.

Based on the Code Aurora Chromium CAF, which is optimised for SD phones, comes with adblock and Chrome sync.

The adblocking doesn't seem to be working so well any more.
