Best on-line shoot-em up

For me it's deffo Medal of Honor Spearhead ;) Sure, there are other games that look prettyer (COD2 etc) but the gameplay of moh is what gets me each time I go online. Hence I've been a regular online gamer and sometime clan member for the last 3-4 years or so...

Just finished a game of COD2 Deathmatch Rifles only.
Were about 25 people on the Tunisia map, was good.
Havent actually played Counter Strike even though people tell me about it, is their a demo?

counterstrike source :)

better than cs because:
sounds far better, footsteps are easier to pin point
you cant shoot though 50ft of wall
game doesnt looks as bland
doesnt have 100,000 12 yearolds
doesnt have 100,000 cheaters

just need sourceTV to be fixed then itll take over 1.6 in the competitive leagues :D
 
Though I've not played it for a long time, or any online game for that matter, I still think, in my opinion Counter-Strike 1.6 is the best, but it does have far too many numpties playing it.

easier to hear? in my experience it is MUCH harder to hear where they are coming from, as in you can only hear them when they are less than a few metres away. i have no problem in 1.6 hearing someone as much as flinch many metres away.

I don't understand that point; I don't feel any great differences between the rifles in CoD or CoD2, and I certainly can't see how it being a console port can affect the rifles unless there was auto aim?

Another vote for COD2, it beats COD only because the game is so much smoother, it feels horrible going back to play COD now when my mates are on there.
I don't care about the odd imbalance in weapons in COD2, when there is a map full of mixed guns everything seems to balance out again. Just stay away from the public servers to avoid the cheats.

Shame about the lack of a COD community these days though.

It's hard to pinpoint exactly, but COd2 just feels like it's being played on a console but with a mouse. The hitboxes are huge and bashing as way too easy. COD1 was far more of a precise art and requires so much more skill to get right. Plus there are more subtle techniques available like clipping etc. :)
 
for me the shooter that started it all online was MOH AA, that game got me into multiplayer, assaulting omaha beach with ** mates over TS, loads of fun :).

But atm I would say CS S is a good bet.maybe BF2 if there wasnt so many problems with the gameplay.
 
Looks like COD2 winning at min. Will have to buy this game and give it a go.

Apart from the good sound what sort of graphic would you expect from the listed games (are they much better then MOH & SOF2) ?

any new Games coming out soon?
