ConfusedTA - i know A 3000GT is twice what a GTOTT costs though at the very least. Very annoying as i can insure a 3000GT for £800 straight up without any dodgyness.

yep its the old Japanese 276 - 280 bhp 'limit.'

the auto box is pretty good (i doubt you'll find a manual to be honest, they are so rare as to be ignored.) but I think you have to be a fan of autos to get the most from it.

personally I don't mind it, i'd definitely prefer a manual but its the sort of car thats brilliant to whack into drive and just do 300 miles in, then start pushing the stick around and having a good old blast.

I'd say a 20v Turbo Fiat Coupe. 0-60 in around 6.5 seconds. £40 chip, 5.7 seconds. Can probably pick one up for 2-3K.

I think its against the law to have more then 10 litres of beast on your driveway tbh

I cant believe those prices though, it costs 500 quid just in shipping so how could it be so cheap

Cheapest I've found so far is £2999 for a 1993 model..

admittedly i cant see many on the trader right now for that kind of price (but there were dozens back in Jan) - quite a few on ebay though.

EDIT : on the trader there or four or five for under £2000.

its bascially down the badges. in a simlar vein the 200 is a toyota in some parts of the world.

am i correcting in thinking that this is basically a cheap supra or are tey quite differant beasts?

none of the soarers in this country coming in from japan are lexuses - they are all rebadged toyotas.

US Lexus SC300 = Soarer 3.0 (same N/A from MK4 Supra.)
US Lexus SC400 = Soarer 4.0 V8

Only difference is the US LHD models have a boring analogue dash whereas the Jap models have the digital funky dash. All of them were built in the same factory on same production line.

No US Lexus equivalent for twin turbo model.

They share most parts with the supra such as chassis, and transmission. So replacing bits is quite easy.

PS if you import one yourself the TTs are buyable for as little as £1200.

Ouch £1200 for Third party F&T. Wheres generally a cheap place to look for jap import insurance.
