Guys,
I have just built my first build for around 8 years. A nice little i7 4770k processor is cooled by a Corsair H60 Hydro Series cooler (2013 model).
So, I am sitting here transcoding a mkv file, and what a time difference. I did the same file on my 2011 i5 laptop, and it took almost 8 hours. With this set-up it's looking at around 1 hour. Awesome.
However, I have the 4 cores running 99-100% here. Full tilt basically. I am monitoring core temps with 2 programs at the same time.
Core Temp 1.0 RC6 : This is showing core maximum temps of 74 / 72 / 69 / 60
Real Temp 3.00 : Showing max core temps of 64 / 61 / 59 / 50
So, about a 10 degrees difference between progs.
So what is the best program to use? Not necessarily one of these two either. I just want to make sure I am accurately monitoring temps, as I may be tempted into a little OC soon.
