Best Retro Handheld

CubeXX or ARC-S for comfort.
I am a D-Pad fan, so always prefer it top left as the primary. I have an RP5 but it's not that comfortable, however may try the official grip - tried some 3d grips and they were rubbish.

I found whilst the RG35xxh is an excellent little machine, I wanted more comfort even still. I use a RG556, which is designed for ergonomics, so no third party grips needed, and it really makes a difference.

The RG40xxh looks like an improvement over the 35xxh though.

Does anyone know where Retroarch memory cards /saves are located? specifically PS1. Specifically specifically an Anbernic 405M running GammaOS so it's android based.

Or if there is a 'reset memory card' option per game. Basically I want to start again on Gran Turismo 2

People said it cant be done, I had to prove them wrong. BeamNG drive running on an Android device (Odin 2 mini pro)

thats pretty impressive ! I wonder if I can get it to work on my RP5 ?

I got Phantasy Star Online ver 2 to work on a hosted online server yesterday which I thought was impressive.

Give it a try :) I expect it will, but might need lowest settings and fps in the region of 10-20.

3d mark wildlife for example 72fps vs 23fps

It's an older game though so might still fair well on the RP5.

I've been playing around with my RG40XX H today, first chance I've had really. The stock firmware is pretty good, but I thought I'd have a go of some custom firmwares as well as I've got spare SD cards.

Knuii is pretty good, but I couldn't get any roms to work after a little while, I think the scraping of art seemed to kill it. I'm on MuOS now, this seem really nice and very easy to configure, get roms running etc.

MuOS was great, I ran it on my RG35XX H after trying stock, MinUI and Knulli

Been looking at picking up a handheld for a while and an upcoming trip was the nudge I needed - picked up a Miyoo Mini Plus and an Anbernic RG40XXV today, think I paid adecent price for them; €26.72 for the Miyoo with no SD Card & €57.02 for the RG40XXV. No idea why I bought 2, from my quick research this morning thry both seem to perform equally but the Miyoo is slightly smaller.

For those that want a handheld (not including larger Steam deck, ROG Ally) and dont mind spending money on it, my advice would be to go all out and buy the best performing chip as possible - Snapdragon 8 gen 2 or gen 3.
Being able to play more modern systems and many many Winlator games perfectly is well worth the effort of tweaking to get things running. That's if you are constantly pushing the limits of whatever device you had anyway.

Some more BeamNG drive on the Odin 2 mini pro
