Best single gfx card for BF3?

I see, yes that is indeed a worry for me as i have a 5850 and was hoping to at least be able to run on high settings and 1080p but if its using over 1024mb then im in trouble. :(

The best advise is to wait till the final release and see how the game copes with your system. With this being a beta, they will be making changes or improvements to both the game and drivers in the future :)

I hope so. I've really got the upgrade bug atm but i know its not really worth it.

Maybe it is if i get another 5850 for crossfire (but it needs to be a good price 5850 like the one here at ocuk @150), its either that or a rival based 6870 2gig for £160 or a ocuk/rival based 6950 2gig @£200 which is my max budget.

Hi all - sorry to pull this down from the lofty heights, but I have a quick question: I just grabbed the beta last night and had a blast on it, and it played OK but not great on my Geforce 9800GTX. Would I see much improvement if I were to get something like a GTS 450? They're under a hundred notes, which makes it a justifiable cost. I'm just about to move house, so as you can imagine, I'm gonna be spending most of my money on soft furnishings :D

If it was me, I wouldn't bother.

According to this - http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/316 - you'd get about 55fps at 1680x1050 and thats in Bad Company 2 at max quality, a game which is no where near as demanding as BF3. I'd consider it a side-grade more than an upgrade so wouldn't suggest it.

You'd be better off saving for a 560Ti at the bare minimum I would have thought.
