Hi, before I used nail polish remover but this isnt great and it takes time. Doesnt give the effect i want anyway...
What to use to clean the cpu? I dont want to spend 10 quid on something that will last me 3-5 cleans, want something bigger for less...

I use Isopropyl 99% Alcohol (also good for cleaning other things), and Arctic Cooling's thermal material removal fluids (had the Arctic Clean about 5 years now still using them). Akasa TIM Clean comes in a big bottle and would last ages too.

Nail varnish remover has added chemicals and sometimes oils too. TIM remover is cheaper and unless you like dressing up as a woman or have a girlfriend nail varnish remover is pointless to buy.

To be sure....

Swan lighter fluid and good quality kitchen towel

That swan liquid is strange. I remember using it back in the mid 90's filling up someones zippo lighter. It's strange how one doesn't feel the liquid on the skin. Kind of like Johnson's Baby oil. I accidentally set all my fingers on fire yet for some unknown reason with that Swan lighter fluid burning away on my fingers, it didn't hurt one bit.

Yep, theres a trick with a lighter.
Put the lighter on your hand hold it so the gas goes on your hand and than light it. Its good when you go on a party very useful trick! :p

Any link of that Antec TIM remover?

I have used Akasa TIM clean for years and it works fine as have my mates, and it lasts a decent amount of time too - as long as you don't leave the bottle open!!:p

Isopropyl alcohol or that artic combo?
I have to clean my cpu since it had some TIM on it that would come off after 30 min of rubbing it with nail polish remover...
