Best torrent client on the market

Very Very poor advice using UTorrent. IF you are downloading things you know is illegal do NOT use UTorrent. UTorrent was good, but they sold out recently to a company who has made the code "closed source" which is very unusual for bittorent (open source). They are tracking you and watching what you download...

Just google utorrent sold out
and read this here from the famous bluetack security (the people who provide blocklists and protowall etc)

DO NOT USE UTORRENT.

DO NOT USE UTORRENT.

Its no worse then your ISP knowing exactly what you visit and what you download, if you do the crime then be prepared to face the punishment. Being a distributor and making profit are the bigger fish.

Some people use older µTorrent (1.4?) and PeerGuardian, they're still not safe though.

Thats why I use protection :)

On Azureus I had the safepeer plugin. Whats the nearest equivalent to this that works with uTorrent?

I've been using uTorrent for about a week now, and have noticed something that it keeps doing. Every 4 or 5 days, it checks the torrents in my downloads list. While usually this would be nice, as it makes sure that no bad data has slipped by, I have a 58Gb monster downloading. And when it tries to check this torrent, my laptop screeches to a halt, and it takes a good 10 minutes to let it finish.

Is there any way to stop this? Azureus never did this, and while uTorrent has the smaller memory footprint, which I like, If my laptops going to sieze up every couple of days while it does this, I may switch back :/

utorrent only does that when it's been closed unexpectedly, like if you hold the power button for 5 seconds to turn the pc off, or rip the powercord out

close utorrent before shutting your pc down and it'll never do 'checking' again

Whats RS? Is this some weird way of saying NewsGroups, which are obviously better than torrents but people just fail to realise :p? I've never lost any sleep mind i'm happily maxing my download with any sharing :)

what the heck is RS? Unless you meant RSS feeds, but that's still torrents so I'm left with thinking you meant newsgroups, but - what the heck is RS?!

utorrent is best client.
And yes newsgroups are better/faster :)

Edit: RS is rapidshare is it not. But newsgroups are still better :p
