Best TV package that doesn't require a license?

My taxes fund schools, but I have no kids.

My taxes fund benefits, but I have a job.

My taxes fund roads but I.... actually I do have a car, but what about those that don't?

Why shouldn't my taxes fund public sector broadcasting too?

Why should they?

Why should they?

Like 99% of tax funding for the good of society. The optional taxes are in a tiny minority,
If it's deemed to be good for society (which it is, just because disagree doesn't mean the majority do), it makes far more sense to take it from general taxation. Stop harassment, it'll save 10s of millions in enforcement, court time etc.

Like every other tax, we have no choice on. For the good of society.

Being able to watch live TV shouldn't be a tax, it should be a choice.

Society would benefit from having the Sky full package, perhaps they should tax everyone for it.

What nonsense.
Sky does not have a charter.
It does not have to provide educational material, it doesn't have to show programming for the entire cross section of society, it doesn't have to spend money in researching and implementing new technology.

Doesn't have to, and yet it does. Far more educational programmes in fact.

Since when did the BBC 'show programming for the entire cross section of society'? What a load of *******.

Please, educational.
Even documentary channel isn't educational.
Now look at BBC extensive educational all the way from KS1 to gcse. Also the equivalent for Wales and Scotland.
