I have a failing drive and need to back it up. I only have a dvdrw, so is there a software solution that might make this proccess easier, rather than nero?

Try any of the HD cloning programs - Norton Ghost or Arconis True Image. I personaly use Arconis, as its simple to use.

For what I can see about the arconis program is that you set the image to the dvd burner. It should be able span multiple dvds. Best bet is to check out its website.

My images are copied to external hard drive. So I haven't tried it to dvd, but then my images are 20 gig a time.

Depends what your backing up?!?

If it's a OS/Programs partition then I would suggest Ghost. If however it's just DATA then I would simply just burn it as a data DVD otherwise you will need a Ghost image browser to see/copy the individual files.

P.S) Ghost can span across multiple DVD's np
