Don't know what's causing the problem but it's making a ticking sound when the cars in motion. Seems to be both when the clutch is up and down.
The most cost effective solution is to buy another one used rather than have it taken out, sent away to fix and then more labour to reinstall.
I've today managed to source a new one for £100
