Best way to sell a code without getting scammed on eBay?

aye any digitally redeemable code is rife for being used and then the buyer saying not working or summit.

even if the item was sealed and the buyer said it didn't work ebay would likely side with the buyer.

Deffo be looking at gumtree with local collection/delivery and cash, never gumtree and paypal
I remember when cases had a human give them a quick glance over and sometimes side with the seller. Now it's 100% automated and cases always automatically allow the buyer to return an item. eBay is now only viable for resellers trying to operate a shopfront without investing in their own website, it's absolutely not for individuals trying to sell any sort of tech item as it's completely broken in terms of being open to abuse from scammers.

100% agree here tbh

So for the last item I "sold" on eBay, they allowed a return as there was an item not included... that I never said was included lol
Even tho eBay admitted that allowing the buyer to return the item shoudln't have been allowed there was no goodwill, no offer of refunding me or anything.

Even with human intervention they sided with the buyer lol

That was the last straw on eBay for me

Yeah the code is worth £250~ and controller about £100~. And I bought the controller for £75 five years ago.

That's crazy! I bought the controller and sold the code for ~£60 at the time to almost cover the cost of the controller :D

It's sat in a drawer as it developed stick drift but sounds like I should look into getting it fixed :)

Yep, I had someone brick something (or he thought he'd bricked it) with a firmware update, wanted to return it and the ebay-bot just allowed it through. Luckily he flashed it on another machine and it then worked, so didn't actually send it back, even so that's the last time I try to sell anything on eBay.
