Better graphics on PC or Xbox 360?

Who cares anyway. Graphics means nothing. Street fighter 2 turbo, maro kart, super tennis and donkey kong country are sucking up all my gaming time at the moment.

I might try and get a PS1 with GTA at a carboot the next time i go. GTA (1) is one of the best games, even though the graphic does look gash.

To me good gameplay lasts xxx hours
Good graphics lasts usually an hour max

But then PCs will run old games with good gameplay too. They aren't LIMITED to high end graphics or low end graphics, so what's your point?

Personally, I think that consoles have their place, some game types are better on them (usually arcade games, beat em ups, sports games) but suck with others (rts, fps for example). Both systems are good at different things, for consoles: Graphics aint one of them.

Seriously if you want to play PS1 games you can do that on an emulator and have them run and look far better than on the old dated PS1

I would imagine his point was that graphics are irrelevent as a good game is a good game regardless of whether it's running at super high res on an uber PC or it's not even 3D and runs on a console released in the 90s.

it's not completely true though, it's much more rose tinted gogles.

Recently I've been playing some of my old ps1 games and even games i really liked are now so bad looking it's difficult to get into them.

Not to mention the annoyance that is digital input for racing games.

I guess it depends on the person.

I've spent more time in the last two weeks playing Banjo Kazooie and WWF No Mercy than I have any of my current gen PC games. Graphically they are apalling, hell, No Mercy can't even do proper entrance vids because it was on a cartridge but they're just as fun as they ever were. (and it's hardly nostalgia, because I never had BK on N64 as a kid! :p)

Graphics will be important to people in different amounts, that's why some people will spend more on a graphics card than other would on an entire PC but I don't personally find poor graphics make a game any less fun than it was.

360 wipes the floor with the pc
just look at the size of the screen ..46" compared to these minute pc screens which average around 22"....you probably need binoculars to view pc screens when sat back on ur sofa.

look at nfs shift....super smooth on 360 and most pc's cant handle it.

is this what u wanted op ? :p

Nah N64 pwned face. Especially the playstation's face.

This thread has inevitable turned into console's vs PC / Pc gaming is dieing.
So I'll pop in and add. I Like them all, even the WII has some brilliant games on it, and I mean brilliant. No more heroes, metroid, mario galaxies, Twilight princess..

While the PC has the best graphics, and to some extent controls. no one here can deny it's lacking in new original games. Particularly single player action-y type ones. PS3 has a lot of these type of games. Mostly exclusives.

If the consoles did not exist then we'd have those games

I'm playing Crysis Warhead at the moment - 1900x1200 with 2xFSAA + Supersampling

and it looks AMAZING - nothing on the consoles can get near it

running at a good 35fps too

and most of all its FUN :)

Warhead is nice i agree. But that's not to say there isn't a ton of games on console that are equally as fun that you can't get on PC. No reason not to have both in my oppinion.

Games are now better on console imo, and i have a decent pc.
PC versions could be much better, but they are not.

The PC's top games are now designed for console, with the PC version just an afterthought.

And it'll get worse...

I have a 46" TV and 22" Monitor.
I play Shift on the PC. My PC handles it fine (50-90fps) :)

LoL...silly question....PC pawns any console...i have a ps3..i never use it cause pc is far far superior....i mean console costs roughly £300...1 decent GPU in a pc costs £300...resolutions on pc go up to 2500++

my rig fully maxed out will blow =ANY= console out of the water....with very high resolution, also you can use 40inch monitors on a pc...also i can use those stupid pads on my pc if i want to,when i need to...but i prefer superior control of mouse/keyboard..pc rules end of :-)
