BF2 Still Active?

Thinking of buying BF2 + Exspansions or maybe BF2142.

Just wondering, is the online community still large, or has it become dull and people moved to BF2142?

BF2 is still massively active, still a great game.
 
i just got back into it again, still excellent. it lost it for i while with all the patches but it's back on track.

Very active. You'll not be disappointed with the game or the choice of servers with over 60 players on them properly kicking off.
I'll ignore the ignorant comment above & just be thankful that his kind no longer play it. Fortunately these days those that like BF2 have stayed whilst other more flighty gamers have moved on. Others move on to games that better suit them.
For me & many others nothing beats a 32 v 32 Full on war round after round on BF2.
Whether it's on vehicle servers jumping in & out of jets or ground hopping from a Tank into an APC & then bailing & grabbing a jeep, being picked up by a Blackhawk chopper with chainguns to die for & shoot anything that moves, on servers that handle All this with 64 players & give me pings below 50 & invariably below 20 this is Pure Gaming Heaven to me.
On the ground you can C4 the armour, mine it, use an Anti tank Rocket, all this by switching class on respawn, nothing pwns more than taking down a Tank when you are on foot or a chopper or anything you are lucky or skilled enough to kill.
Infantry only servers nowadays as well, 32 v 32 full on gun battles across mad maps bigger than all before.
Dude what can i say, i s'pose the proof is in the pudding a. Well i bought this game on day one & have logged over 2000 hours online play on this game, all for around 30 quid :p
As i said 64 man servers are my gaming heaven :cool:

BF2 is as strong as ever, bigger fanbase than BF2142. I think everyone played BF2142 for a while, realised how **** it was and went back to BF2 like myself :)
 
I bought BF2 on release day aswell after loving the demo, the community nowadays doesnt have as many idiots as it used to due to most of them moving onto newer games such as 2142 but I bought that aswell and didnt like it one bit. A gaming session on BF2 + Ventrilo cant be beating imo.
 
I've been interested in BF2 and got the money to buy it, does it take a long time to be "good" and to learn how to play like all the jets and that, also are their quite a lot of clans and clan wars? sorry never played any Battlefield game so dont know a lot about it.

It can take a bit of getting used to, but there are loads of different classes (medic, anti tank, sniper, special forces, support (ammo+ heavy machine gun) etc etc) so you can choose your favourite :)

As for vehicles, they're not that difficult to control if you practice. I know some people who just *cannot* fly choppers though. I think they're just a bit dumb in the head :p

Not sure about clans etc.

It's a very very very good game, well worth it if you can get a few mates on and go round in a squad flying a black hawk :cool:
 
Well the site i normally buy games of is pricing it as £14.99 Delivered, bit more than i would have expected for the game, i'll see i can get it cheaper in the MM.

I've found it for £9.99 look around!, for a game which your going to play for hours upon hours its a total steal!.

I've gone to 3 websites now! cheapest i can find is stil £14.99 delivered, argh :mad:

dont suppose you could email/msn the site :p email in trust.
 
got the deluxe version (bf2+special forces) for 14 quid a few months ago, takes a while to get onto it but worth it when you do
