BF2 Worth it?

dear lord i just looked at my stats for this bloody game and i have nearly 600 hours on it :eek: ohh well 2000 more points and am 2nd lt :p
 
BF2 is a ace game, but be warned out of any game I'd say BF2 has the worst reputation for smacktards and general *****. I always get tk'd for the Jet, heli etc and people throw cars infront of the Jet etc its annoying and uneeded. Even though I am better then them in air they just can't take it.
 
i just stand up in the middle of the street and snipe someone head on. you may think WTF you'll die, but chances are that the other player is a crap :p
bf2 is easy to pick up and play in short or long bursts, but hard to master.

As above poster says, i often get kicked for swearing at ****s who spawnkill me or TK me. There are people ive noticed cheating, jumping about 100times as high as they should, and then sniping off unclimbable buildings.

On FF of servers go spec ops, plant c4 on the floor, run on top of it and boom!!!

200 foot high :D

Swearing filters on servers is bloody pathetic!

Well I've played BF2 since it released back in June 2005. Basically you learn things. Aside douche bags actually hacking, most of that stuff your seeing is either macros or just bunny hopers. They get up on the building possibly because the server has ff off and use c4 to boost themself. They get inside the buildings easily enough but douche bags do that and I won't post how.

I usually get kicked/banned for teamkilling because last one I remember I got in the Jet on Oman and like 4 of my team stood infront of it so I ploughed them down and they all punnished so I got banned.
 
Its not as bad as most games for hacking because of the threat of losing your account.
I too played it since launch day, and its my favourite game, no question. It does take a while to master, but when you do its really rewarding acting as a team.
As for sniping of unclimbable buildings, its easy to do, you just parachute there :)
 
the swearing filters are indeed VERY pathetic.

I never thought of c4 boosting with FF.
I play infantry only as n00bs cant camp in APC's then, but what really p***es me off is when i TK cos a retard has run on my mine. When you are near a friendly mine it even displays a skull and crossbones on the screen. I also think that the area of detection of a mine is a little OTT Before now ive seen a mine approx 2m away and turned away and it still blows :confused:

There are loads of servers running all map rotations, kifferstubchen.de, Pornostars Germany, not to mention the Jolt wake servers etc. then you have some decent clan servers. i admit some are incredibly bad, thinking hacks are left, right and centre of them.

But it is a still a popular game and worth the money without a doubt.
 
Soz to hijack post but i have just reinstalled and cant find the option for my native res!? Im looking for 1680x1050! Is there wide screen support or not cos i dont want to have to play on a dodgy res :(

Apparently it doesn't increase the FOV it just stretches it.

I will definatley be purchasing this week. As i said originally i really enjoyed it when i did play but was more concerned about getting into it and then not having anyone to get shot by! :D

I have read loads about people cheating in various games and i just cant get my head round it. It seems like such a pathetic thing to do. I remember a kid at school told me how he played Champ Man and whenever he lost a game he would shut down and reload and keep playing till he won! :rolleyes: He was rather odd but even so! I just cant see how anyone could get any satisfaction from cheating at an online computer game.
 
heh well one player i knew or came across was really bad, and had played for along time and didnt have a good point/time ratio.

He basically got royally owned, and he couldn't take it so he resorted to hacks/aimbot. but it was blatent because he suddenly started getting headshots etc taking 4-5 guys out which he never used to do :p

he was reset and GUID banned. Serves him right :cool:
