Oh well thats pretty much what I did in fear anyway, run about doing unarmed attacks, except not for skill? just for kicks tbh, funny how mad people got.

Yup appears you died a lot in BF2 and seem to have taken your anger out on it :(.

COJ had kewl single player and kewl multiplayer, I am not saying I live for the game but 10mins every now and then online is fun e.g. team deathmatch or robbery.

I am not angry just I DID play the game for fun ... then the people on the game changed, it turned into stat padding point farming fest, patches restricted movement, died mainly through ARTY and TANKS. BUT I would still be playing now if movement was not restricted and ARTY was romoved... well once every 10 mins i could just about live with!

You can have skill and fun in BF2 if the skilless ways of being killed were removed

ps if there is a website showing your deaths on bf2 I.E. detailing the amount of deaths through arty, tanks/apc and claymore please post

Errr just gonna break the news but in infantry only there is no vehicles (but boats) and there is no arty, vehicle drop etc for commanders just uav, supplies and scan.

Yeah I've died tons of times by arty, tons of times by tanks killing me while I cap flags and claymores so what. Im not gonna cry about it, so it adds a death to my stats.... tbh I like stats good for making me know what to improve on and I like ranking up etc.

So what did you expect? with stats obviously you get stat padders and cheaters and glitchers, and unfair players, macro users, hackers, heavy vehicle whores its obviously going to happen. They need to make their internet rep big some how.

Anyway learn to play on better servers then, for example Sidders server which I played on a lot is very good, inf only. Been tk'd once by a stupid teammate and no arty, vehicles so what else can you ask for?

Okay I will be honest by the time 1.41 came out I had enough of the patches that fix a few probs and make 10 more... when I did install the patch I never saw many inf only servers and I did not know arty was removed from them I thought it was just vehicals :o
 
Would have to say there is no skill to the Bf series, its pick up and play, learn the maps and your set, ok maybe being a very good sniper can take a bit of skill but for general play its point shoot, cap, die, nade spam, noob tube, rinse repeat.

You really have a bit of an attitude on you, I would really like to meet these other gamers that refer to all BF2 players as noobs, or did you just make that up? Think so.
I have played online games for years starting back with beta CS 1.7 and played loads of online FPS’s since and you are the first that has made a comment like that. Oh and I love how you think using unarmed combat in fear is skilled.

Sure some games are easier to pick up and are more forgiving to new players but just because you manage to rack up a few kills each round does not make you a skilled player. Each game is based around a different set of skills, team games like BF2 require you to work together to be effective and make a contribution to winning each round. You need to be aware of your team mates and squad members, what points need to be defended or attacked first, using all the vehicles effectively. Granted BF2 does not require the kind of twitch shooting that many FPS’s do, they are more focused on individual skills and reactions, not teamwork. Other games require both.

Your comments about skilled players always beating noob sprayers is just BS too, newbies get lucky crap players get lucky, **** happens and there is nothing you can do about it. Most of the time the good and experienced players come out top but everyone can always get that lucky headshot, including the noobs.

I never said it was skilled but it requires more skill than g2a2 :rolleyes: I never said noobs never get a kill but noobs do not have the chance to come top of the server on FEAR whereas on bf2 it is a different story.

I have seen many times on forums things like 'hope the bf2 noobs dont come and spoil quake wars'. An example of what I am talking about "A lot of stupid n00bs play it"

never ending colour bug and kit bug
loads of point farming glitches

giving ranks away and awards that others actually took ages practicing to get like e.g. my brothers expert knife

I'm tired god knows the list goes on and on but whatever

I AM NOT SAYING I HATE BF2 I PLAYED IT A LOT AND DID ENJOY IT but seriously well after a year of its release it is finally far less buggy and more playable but after the past year of rubbish I have moved on... end of

Apart from its release I have never been on a server where the sole aim by most of the players is to get as much points as possible spoliing everyone else's game in the process. BF2 is very noob friendly FACT, so what maybe you guys are not but that does not mean you represent the whole community. I mean other games like coming top in a quake 4 server is far more challenging and at least 95% are not noobs can you really say the same for bf2??

Rose tinted spectacles dude. The game is more fun at the moment than it has ever been: The skill level of many players in now exceptional, leading to some absolutely storming rounds.

As always, if you play on random servers, your experience is going to be mixed. Find a good server, get to know the regulars, use vent, TS, in game VOIP and enjoy.

I occassionaly go server hoping and there are quite a few badly run servers. A well run server where you're known and stat padders don't matter one bit. One call in ventrillo and they're gone. Or even better, ganged up on and raped until they leave the server.

If anyone is looking for a damn good server do a search for "The Pink Panthers" server. It's an IO 40 man server where 99% of the games are very much team/squad based. If you play a few games with some TPP members (they're always there) and ask for the ventrillo details they'll let you in (or just use in game VOIP - if they notice people using it they'll use that too).

BF2 does require skill. Any game with human interaction requires skill because people will always find ways to push even the simplest ideas as far as possible to be as good as possible. That in turns means everyone else tries to do the same way.

It could be a game where your only function is to press "A" repeatedly and someone would still find a way to do it better than you.

Saying any game requires more skill than another is just daft. I'd say BF2 is a a game that needs a lot of skill to learn. There's so many different ways to play it. There's the planes to master, heli's to master, each different class to master, each different gun to master, sub roles of classes to master... the list of available options and things to master is substantially higher than most games. Once they click it's like any other game.

From your stats alone: You've not tried Comming, you've not scratched the surface of AT or sniper, not got to grips with carabines/shotguns/pistol/knife, not mastered flying planes/ heli's. I could go on. They're not bad stats, but they don't paint your BF2 career as "easy."

All that link is saying is that BF2 has some bugs and issues, it doesn’t say it’s a noob game or whatever you seem to think it is. As for you and your elitist mates opinions I think its quite laughable, its people like you that ruin gaming communities with attitudes like that. You remind me of the kiddies that play 1.6 who think they are so pr0 and everyone else is beneath them.

You completely missed the point to my post, I’m not acting like BF2 I some sort of sacred game,I don’t even play it much these days at all. All I was saying that it requires a different set of skills to be played well from most normal FPS’s. Skills which you seem to really lack to play properly.

This just shows me that have played on the wrong type of servers in which everyone plays solo, not working together and more interested in there points and rewards. If you had actually played on some decent servers especially some of the infantry only servers you would see how it is supposed to be played. As it is you are just passing comment on a game you do not really know how to play properly

WTF do you think CSS is all about then? POINT SHOOT DIE! I really fail to see the point in the complaining of BF2 when CSS is the same damn story except less.
 
Deadkomodo you seem to hate BF2 passionately and from the descriptions you posted of your experiences it seems your utter distaste is born out of poorly admined and noob infested servers.

Yes, BF2 has its issues but saying it requires no skill is just completely untrue. If you've played BF2 the way it was intended to, you'll know it takes a lot more than just raw killing capability to be classed as a 'skillful' player.

I've played on the type of servers you described and I'd agree, its awful and you can pretty much get away by perfecting a simple nade spamming, clay whoring, apc whoring, etc routine. But, try that on a well organised and admined server and you won't last very long. I've seen squads of medics, ATs, engineers, support, snipers, etc take on virtually everything that gets thrown at them. Tanks, APCs, Helicopters, jets, you name it, with proper teamwork its possible to over come any form of whoring, it just takes loads of skill. ;)

check my stats I have played the game for hundreds of hours since august 05, as I have already stated the game was out a year before the inf only patch :rolleyes: I have played the game in a squad for just as many hours as I have solo.

ps I did reinstall BF2 and I went on an inf only server and it was quite fun got a lot of easy kills (from lots of lovely noobs) and got killed quite a few times by claymores (way more snipers nowadays :confused: ) normally due to following a teammate he sets of a claymore and I go down with him.

Yeh, because it's really hard to lose a game when your whole clan is stacked on 1 side :rolleyes:

I have already stated we always played on 64man servers as clan :rolleyes: and hello?!a lot of the time our clan would be split up, near imposible to keep our players on one side

the main arguement against me seemed to have been so what about skill bf2 is abouut teamwork saying I dont know how to play in a team?!? I had a whole clan and we would play as a team, I know the game inside out it seems to me I know the game better than most of you... most of you must have found a couple of nice servers and stayed there but that is NOT representitive of BF2!!!
