BF3 System

To the OP. I'd be tempted to stick with the 4850 for now seeing as you're playing at a low resolution then seeing how it does. Graphics card prices are heading south at the moment anyway with potentially new ones coming out soon - you've got nothing to gain by changing now.

As far as the CPU goes, try picking up a second hand Q6600 (£50-60) and seeing how it goes. If it doesn't work out you're not going to lose much by selling it on again.

I imagine the final game will work differently to the beta, so just see how it goes. Patches in the first few months will change things too.

Also says 1 in stock.

Ask in the customer services section, you can also ask for photos to see the exact card/packaging condition etc.

This amuses me... I just picked up a 4870 1GB for £35... Could in theory do the job...

I am entirely aware that actually what you want is slightly more high end really (4601gb/560) but yeah, it amuses me of what is still theoretically capable of doing it xD

Good PSU, the 4850 is no good these days,

Heres the lowest I would expect to do a good job,

Well it played surprisingly well on the 4850 at low settings, 32 player server, 1280*1024 with my e2180 @3.1ghz and 2gb ram. Very playable, I think it'll do quite well at medium too. Quite surprised.

Tis the beta tho, full game will have 64 player and more destructable environments so will deffo require a better cpu as in outdoor on metro felt just a little too slow. The GTX 460 should be more then good enough and should run any future games ok too.

So really just need a new cpu, looking for a second hand q6600 and clock it to 3.2 on my gigabyte p35 ds3l.

Will 2gb extra ram help? I already have 2 1gb sticks of geil ddr, don't want to discard them. But im thinking getting 2 more 1gb sticks might hinder the OC?
