BFG 8800GT OC2 constantly locksup and artifacts after 5-10 min of play

i just received the card from OcUK

installed last night but it freezes after 5-10 min of play

i have tried with the fan at constant 90% in rivatuner and i also have a thermaltake TMG SL1 system blower under the card

am using latest 169.09 xp drivers and 169.12 vista drivers

have so far tried Gears of war, blacksite area 51, NFS prostreet, UT3, COD 4

waited a month for the card too :( gutted

any suggestions?
 
mine freezes for like 2-3 seconds sometimes, but its like mabye once a day and thats it, i currently attribute it to my processor, temps are not that high mabye 65 at load max

is this like freezes and no play or like extreme lag
 
Mine also does this, sometimes its fine and will work for hours and then for no reason it will freeze and i get red on the screen :(

It hasnt locked at stock speeds yet but I do have my fan set at 90%

The only game I have tried is COD4

Using the fur renderer it hasnt crashed even when clocked to 700/1753/1000 :)
 
ive got the 8800GT OC and im getting a couple of lockups a day,the screen basically freezes on whatever im doing and i have to cold reboot.

nah it totally locks up and artifacts requiring me to reboot which is totally unnacceptable

75 is the avg core temp i get when running games too

installed the gainward tool and this is what is shows for my BFG

maybe it is the memory overheating ? what if i lower it but to what?

My BFG 8800GT OC locks up exactly the same also sometimes it just decides to make my screen go blank and the only way to get it back on is to restart.

to be honest not tried stock as that defeats the reason why i paid extra for the card

but the core temp is fine i am not sure how to look at the memory temp but i could try lowering the memory but do not know to what

Maybe your card just doesn't OC that well. I thought you'd have paid extra because it's pre-OC'd, not because of OCing potential.

eh? i paid extra because it is pre overclocked not so i could overclock it

people do not seem to read the posts properly..
 
Put it down to clock speeds, if it doesn't crash then you got a duff overclocker. Return it if it won't run the OC2 settings as it's supposed to.
 
I think you have a dodgy card, i get freezes and lockups at anything over 700 gpu, yours should be fine at them clocks, especially since they ship with them speeds.
 
BFG, though if you just got your card, then it will still be under the seven days long distance selling act, you can return it for a full refund or replacement.
