if I bought a card and it didn't work properly at it's stock speeds, it would be going back pronto.
NOT true ...
if within first 12 months then OCUKs responsibility for RMA
how long it will take is another matter -but your contract is with OCUK not with BFG
Mark.
Woozy, so Buckster above is correct and you rma'd with OcUK?
I think you did the correct thing by rma'ing it - it's not fair that you have to reduce the memory clock to make it stable.
As far as the issue of the fan going at 60%, I did it with rivatuner myself this way:
Above 65 deg the fan goes up to 45%
above 68 deg it's 50%
Above 75 deg it's 65%
Above 85 deg it's 90%
Above 92% it's 100%
During Oblivion and Crysis the temperature of the card is between 72 and 82 (it goes higher with Oblivion than Crysis I think), hence my fan during gameplay always runs at 65%. My card never got above 82 degrees though.
So during games you have to have the fan running at 60-65% otherwise it'd heat up I guess...
but that is the core temp i am not sure how to see the memory temp
also do you know how i can send it back on the RMA without paying the postage i am really broke atm due to ebay and the loss of my 8800gts
Not being funny but seems a lot of BFG's acting up on lots of forums (think its OC versions).
Someone here hinted at them not even being tested (not sure if BS or not).
sorry all
with my memory at 901 in rivatuner what does that work out as
OC2 default mem being 1950MHz? (975 in rivatuner)
Edit: i only tried at 901 will try at 950 now for the mem
I have an MSI GeForce NX8800GT T2D512E-OC coming tommorrow, hope this one does not have any problems too.
It does make you wonder what sort of testing they put these pre-clocked cards through. I can't imagine for the life of me that it's very extensive which is why I don't buy pre-clocked cards.
