Vanessa crane has been bugging me about organising a Cannock meet.
I don't have time to arrange anything, but if any of you are keen or sorting it out, ill be there!
 
Stolen from Bike Radar so many might have seen this but Cannock Chase needs votes for potential lottery funding.

I've voted of course.

For those who are interested in a meet up at Cannock lets have a show of hands for a Saturday ride.

Dates to choose from:

Saturday July 9th or Saturday July 23rd.

If we get a lot of interest I will do a separate post for it.

Just got back from my first proper ride out today, I'm so unfit it's unreal. I must've climbed about 100ft in total and rode about 2 miles overall but I feel absolutely shattered; it's not fun realising just how unhealthy my body is. The bike handled it really well, however it does feel a bit flimsy going downhill. The tyres are absolutely pants and were constantly wheelspinning on anything mildy moist.

I can't wait to get back out there at the weekend now, I've definitely got the bug.
 
What a sissy!

Don't know what I was bothered about yesterday.

Big dose of MTFU was required! Not as wet as yday, so went out just to practice. First time didn't lift the front wheel enough and landed front wheel first but not so bad. Went back round and had three more attempts, my third being the best, landed it both wheels at the same time like a boss! Felt great!

If this weather continues I'll have to swap my tyres around, my Racing Ralph rear is just getting clogged with mud and clay at the moment and slipping about on the singletrack bits.

I find that the best way.... I don't walk ahead and have a look at the obstacles before I ride them, I just do them as they come up and hope for the best. Only had 1 off this way but 95% of the time it works out ok.... No doubt a painful fall is in the post soon :o
 
I see Fort Bill has been secured as a UCI World Cup venue for another 2 years.... Seems to be the venue of choice ATM.

Lets hope it can see mainstream TV coverage at some point :)
