Mmmm can anyone give me an idea on what a 2011 Trek Remedy 8 would be worth now ? Bike is stock apart from a new E13 DRS fitted (2X10 conversion, still have original components) and a X-Fusion Hi-lo hydraulic seat post.

As im seriously considering chopping it on for a older DH bike and Road bike.

Well which Marzocchi fork is it mate? Superstar will have the correct adaptor you need.
I was just asking to point you to the correct one... You don't seem to be giving much away.

I cant remember the model, not a bomber and lower end - may have race in it but would have to check when back from work!

Videos make things look WAY smaller than they really are, just look at the Red Bull Rampage Canyon gap thing.
Word's dont quite descibe the massiveness, and neither does the videos of it ... untill someone takes a picture from below!

As to how you do it, to get it precise.. it's a precise mathematical fingymagic.

Where (s) = Size
and
Where (f) = Fortitude
and
Where (r) = Ratio

Brain(s) / Testecular(f) < 2:1 (r)
Gap possibility and probability = True

Thought I'd pop my head up in here after reading the thread for a few months! I'm what you would call a complete noob, I bought a Spesh Hardrock Disc recently and have just been using it to hack around on to football and back, work etc.

What would you guys suggest for introducing myself to mountain biking? Obviously Cwmcarn is just up the road, but am I going to die in a tangled mess of MTB frame and dirt if I go anywhere near the place!?

I've been trying to find some simple local trails just to get used to riding offroad.

Still time to join the lads at Cannock if you wanted.

Course not, take it easy and wear a helmet. Cwmcarn is quite tame, take the fire road to the top to save your energy for the descent. Go take a look at the DH track at the bottom/start of the XC trail for a look at the bigger stuff.

LOADS of riding around Newport/Cwmcarn. Where in Newport are you? Cwmcarn is my local haunt :)

You two should go riding together and have some hideous babies.
Lol :D 3some? ;)
Right in the middle of Newport, near the transporter bridge (if you know the 'port at all).
Yeah I know it.
You have riding on Machen (up to the mast, some nice descents dotted around the place), riding to Upper Cwmbran from the top of Cwmcarn (or pick your own way up).
Lot's about Newport mate, take a look at a map/Google. You can always tag along with me.

Only the "sniper rocks" are painted, they are painted in Yurp races as well.
At the speeds those guys travel at, it's not so much fun flying off a dangerous rock you didn't see ;)
