Frame wrap is on, Bike tape is on order.

Will prob just put a couple of layers on the down tube

EDIT: Tempted to just go for Golspie and blast it down, but will do Balblair first as it lends itself well to testing a new bike. Quite techy in bits but several decent downhill stretches

Thanks Crow :)

It's my first full susser, having spent the last three years rising the local trails on a hard tail.

£50 Raleigh MTB from my bro -->Giant XTC 4 --> On-One 456 SS --> Nukeproof Mega

Quite a step up :D

I still need to do Cannock, but I did prefer Llandegla over Gisburn for the reasons you mention. There were a lot more slow technical sections whereas I prefer blasting round faster! :)

I found it harder than the others, it felt a lot longer than the other trails, ive only ridden it the once on the OcUK meet, and we kept stopping/starting. I normally just ride non-stop at my own pace which would have been faster uphill and slower downhill!

It was very hot iirc that day which didn't help!

Need to cram as much riding in as possible, I fly in 5 weeks and will need to leave some time to clean my bike!

Supercow what spring came with your YT? and what size would I need to replace it as I think i'd probably need a hefty one being 220lbs and 6ft 2"

ohh and post more pics! you did a write up about it, where may that be :)

Supersnob wouldn't buy a YT.

I'm 175lbs and mine came with a 400lb spring. You would need a 500lb spring I guess.

In the Swiss Alps:

ahhhh memories of bike holidays. :D

I'm hoping this canyon I ordered will fit on my hollywood (boot) rack. What do you lot use to carry full sus bikes?

Mine just goes in the car as I hate having stuff on the outside and having to drive slower :) The amount of salt that bikes pick up on a boot mounted rack in winter isn't at all good for them either.

There have been a few changes recently. Got the weight down to 23.5 pounds. Ands thats with an AM front wheel. Once My bank balance is looking alittle better i'll get a new front wheel to match the rear. Looking at 1250Grams for the wheelset  I’m really enjoying riding it, so fast downhill and equally fast up.

New additions - 1x10 which I love. 34f/36r
New rear wheel- spec:
American Classic 225 Rear hub
ZTR Alpine Rim
CX Ray spokes.

Total weight of the wheel is 700grams. Solid too as tested it to the max today as did the Brecon Beast 100km and flew up the Gap and down. Jumping etc and generally being a cycling GOD.

Oh and flipped the stem :) just adds awesomeness. Don’t bash it until you've tried it.

Had another ride on my Canyon today round Dalby. I used to live in York so have spent a fair bit of time there in the past so did a combi route starting at adderstone, doing the black then cutting across to the newer red route to the main centre, then a combination of new and old red route back to adderstone. Had to have a quick play at the bike park too as it was nice and quiet.

On my way home I also picked up hard tail frame to stick the bits off my old enduro on.

Should build up into a nice light hack to ride when it gets really muddy this winter.
