Well after thinking about it for ages, I went for some, they seem no heavier than what I have, so happy enough there, but they might have to go back :(.

Just wondering what sort of condition your ones were in when they came, or even what's acceptable for a hand built wheel?

I've read you normally get the odd mark on them where they are put together, but one of the wheels has multiple scuff marks on both sides of the rim in different places, as if something abrasive has rubbed up and down on them and the other wheel has 3 or 4 chips in the anodizing so the metal shows through and a tear in the sticker.

Which seems a bit excessive to me :(, but if all of them are likely to be like it, then not sure if it's worth the effort of exchanging them.

I had one or 2 scratches, looks like from the trueing jig/wheel jig, nothing major, some black paint and they looked fine, plus its only a matter of time before they get dinged by a rock etc

Ah thought you were buying forks, the Santa Cruz Nickel is probably about right then and uses the swish APP link

No, the only things I would buy are the frame, headset and any extras like new cabling. The Nickel looks like a bit of a hefty frame, much like mine, so I'd not really be any better off, I certainly don't want to spend that kind of money.

The main reason I was looking at a 456 carbon is because its cheap and light, it will also take a 150mm fork. At £299 its cheap enough to "give it a go" but part of me still says that I might be wasting money and stick with what I have. I just don't know.

Hobbies suck unless you have endless amounts of cash :D

I just think that if you go back to a HT as your only bike you will soon be craving for the FS again. It seems a backward move.

What you are needing is a good XC full suss frame another choice is Transition Bandit.

Which is why I would keep my current frame, just in case. But is it really a backwards step? I'm fairly confident I can do all the things I do on a FS on a HT aswell, just maybe not as easily...

To me it seems a backward step as you will just be replacing your FS with the HT equivalent and so will be in the same position just with less comfort.

If you really want a change you should be looking at a true XC frame whether it be HT or FS, for instance the On-One Carbon Whippet

Im sure someone here has or had a green Heckler.

I've an idea for a thread. Bike Porn! Crap title so it doesn't have to be called that but you get the point..

Ok, bike pictures are posted in here, which is fine, but we could have a thread purely for bike pictures and nothing else. No chit chat, just bikes with listed specs.

They could also be posted in here or the Roadie thread for the chit chat side of things.

It's a good idea, but it would never work.

Image threads need 2 rules:
1 - Include a reasonable sized picture in each post.
2 - Include nothing else in your post

Seems fairly straightforward to me, but 90% of people cant follow these rules.

Do it! Theres a decent one of these on pistonheads; seems to work over there.
