any brand of shin/ knee guards recommended over others? Going to grab a pair of pinkbike but just wanted your opinions first. Common ones seems to be 661's

I've got a pair of the 661 Kyle Straits. They're really comfy and never slip down if you get the right size. They seem to have decent side protection as well which is nice.

3 Minute Gaps is pretty good.

Follow Me and Seasons.

Only 1 i'v ever seen is Roam

Cheers for those guys, will have a watch. Thanks.

Roam and Season's are probably the best out there :)

I'm really wanting a new bike at the moment, but i'm going to Whistler for a few years next year, so undecided on what to get =/

One side of me wants to get a Freeride/downhill bike (A Spec Demo 8 would be nice, if I wont the lottery!) while the more sensible side of me wants to get a long travel XC/All mountain bike, so I can ride everything here in the UK, and then shred Whistler on it until I can afford a nice Downhill bike over there?

Any opinions, and some suggestions for a long travel XC/All mountain bike?

Budget is best bang for buck, but 1.5k would probably be my max seeing as I need serious cash for Whistler :(

guy's, if i want to go from 8spd setup to 9spd setup would i need to change my front chainrings? or do these not have speed? On pinkbikes there's shimano deore rear/front derailur and shifts for £30 posted which seems pretty cheap and as i'm need to buy a new cassette to replace my broken one thought it might be a good time to change

Shimano will tell you yes. But you don't have to.

Last call for Llandegla!!!

Anyone fancy coming along on Tuesday (thats this Tues, 20th) - I'll be there probably around 9:30, but can wait around a bit if anyone fancies popping along?

Just finished watching this mornings season opening DH World Cup race, loved seeing Minaar win his home race.

After a road century yesterday I had a nice technical 25 miles on the XC bike today to totally wear me out :D

looks a good trail, don't think i'd fancy 25 miles of it though! how long it take?

Right going to get a Reverb, the 380mm one should be plenty.

Presume the MMX one is for the matchmaker clamps so it will fit on with my brakes and shifter?

Also to have it fitted underneith on the left do you need the left or right side one, for the MMX one as i know for the standard clamp you need the opposite side?

Had a bit of a mixed day today. Been out about 5 hours, but spent half the time digging myself out of stupid deep sludge/clay/water :p

Didn't start good though, found a drop off I wasn't expecting, while going really slowly, and went straight over the handlebars, right into the path (and a big steaming pile of horse... leavings.) And then it ended terribly, as riding home I had a loud "twang" and look to the back and there is a spoke broken away from the wheel, and pointing out. So push home, ring Je James, and just about to go now, say they will put a new spoke on for me.

After a good weekend of riding, it ends like this. :(

sounds like you are really unlucky when out riding, i haven't had an off for almost a year although have a had a few near misses with dogs, i have know idea why people let their dogs free on trails it's just a matter of time before i actually hit one.
