Yeah makes sense. I guess its just worth holding some cash up until I have enough to sink in to a decent build. I am impatient though :D

Try upgrading some bits on it that you'd then shift onto a better bike.

For example, if you haven't got good pedals... try something like:

or some DMR V8's, if you're on a tight budget.

Also, look at getting some better lock-on grips and bar end caps to match the bike, and maybe a better quality saddle.

In short, get upgrades that'll last for the next bike as well as this. (I know that might cause colour issues with the pedals... but tough! heh)

This bike looks crazy:

Wouldnt fancy cleaning it after a muddy wet ride! Heres the info: http://www.delta7bikes.com/arantix-mountain-bike.htm

getting a bit peeved with the puddles on my local trails and spray hitting my seat (ending up with soaking shorts), so i decided to go ghetto and fashion up myself a rear guard :D
used a crud catcher front and hacked away some bits and then used a heat gun to form it better so that the tyre doesnt catch and behold .....

pretty chuffed easy to fit and remove via some tie wraps :D

Oh dear, I've started eyeing up the Nukeproof Snap, kind of wondering whether it would be good for 4x, dirt jumping, light dh and occasional AM rides if I put a different cassette and adjustable fork on it :P

Tell me I'm being stupid!

You could be acting stupid, I'd be checking how long the seattube is and whether you can safely get enough extension on a seatpost for decent pedalling. They seem to be popular for what their intended for though :D (dj and 4x).

Yeah I think you might be right, AM/XC could be pushing it a bit :p
It would still be a hundred times easier than riding my DH rig about though..

I know, I'm going to get my old DJ bike out and see if I actually like riding it before making any rash decisions :P

Does anyone know what chain ring bolt size I need for my Pitch? I've got GXP2 cranks and I managed to smash my original bash guard so bought a new Hope one thinking it would be a straight forward swap. However my existing bolts are too long and don't screw the guard and chain ring in tight enough!

So I've decided I really need some knee pads, has anyone got any recommendations? I'm not really bothered about the shins, as it's my Knee's I worry about, as I've had countless problems with them in the past. The 661 Veggie look OK, has anyone used them?

661 kyle strait knee pads

i wear mine most of the time now, there very comfy, i sweat a bit in them but they dont move and dont get in the way.

what he said^^

Thanks. I was searching for those and couldn't find any, turns out they are now called Rage instead of Kyle Strait. They have them in-stock at Je James, so I'll go try some on tomorrow.

Thanks again :)

661 Rage knees - they have replaced the Kyle Strait model.
the same thing, just another colour and 661 don;t have to pay the man-fridge royalties for using his name.

I just bought a pair of these today:

Been wanting to try them out for a while now.
