Cool looks good, love the attention to detail on those frames. Ended up watching Cy's youtube vids on frame design, cy turner on cotic frames, and I'm kinda sold on getting one now.

I guess I'd need a large as I'm 6" and will mainly use it for trail riding like Afan and Cwmcarn. What do you think would be a good fork to match up to the lighter cotic soul?

I would always say BOS , though the Fox 34 also tickles my fancy

Took a couple (or so) decent pics of my build today, bike's ready to be put away for a few weeks while I'm off on holiday.

Well, my brother and I decided that 2013 is going to be a life changing year in terms of fitness and getting some fresh air.

Having not ridden a bike for some 20 years, the technology has moved on somewhat. We took a trip out yesterday and came away with two Specialized stumpjumpers. I went for the fsr comp evo 26 (built 8/12/12 :o) and my bro went for the fsr comp carbon.

We then met up with some mates for a ride and covered some 13 miles. We headed up to Cwmcarn, got to the cafe, and turned around (after some refreshments). It'll be a good couple of months getting used to riding again, so we are taking it easy as we don't want to kill ourselves before we have started, lol.

Have to say though, it certainly made a change, and I did enjoy taking in the fresh air. The bike is sweet, however, my back side is not so good this evening ;)

Cheers.

They both look ace but probably a bit over budget :p There's not that many 130-140mm forks left now, was thinking of sektors but they are 150, otherwise I guess fox 32 float 140's.

Ah it looks like I could get some dual air revelations and space them down as well, didn't realise it was easy to do.

Managed to totally screw my front wheel in the off that saw me break my collarbone, just about healed now and as I need a new front I might as well use it as an opportunity to upgrade my whole wheelset.

I was thinking of going for some Hope Hoops but am struggling to justify the cost. I've spotted Superstar do either some Stan's Flows or Mavic 719 on their Switch Evo hubs, anybody running these and have comments?

Also this may sound stupid but I'm not sure what axle I need, my rear is definitely QR but I think my front it some sort of axle jobbie but not a proper thru-axle. The Specialized site list it as a "9mm thru-axle QR". Superstar list a QR and a 9mm, I think I need the 9mm, is a QR 6mm?

Cheers

There is 9mm Front QR Through Axle OR just a standard QR, check what's there just now - stick a picture up if your not sure.

Not running Superstar myself (hope on arch ex's here) but loads of decent/good reviews on the Stans Rims Superdeal - Crest or Flow On Switch EVO Hubs for £200.

I have the Stans Flow on Switch Evo hubs. Cracking wheelset for the money and have taken some real hammer without any issues. I obviously recommend them.

Just ordered myself a Waterproof Jacket and some Waterproof shorts. Hopefully won't freeze my bits off when I go out on Friday. :)

Not ridden my MTB much at all, gave it a run to work and back. Never had a problem when I used it regularly, but its not liked being stood.

Rear caliper is sticking badly, removed the pads, pushed the pistons back into the caliper, reset the caliper centred over the disc. Gave it another try, was fine in the stand, but after a ride it ended up sticking again.

Am I best to pump the lever to get the pistons to move out a bit, scrub them with a toothbrush or similar if dirty, use a bit of red grease and push them back in?

Cheers guys, sounds like the Flow and Switch Evo combo is a sound buy then.

I think it's the "9mm Front QR Through Axle" you mention, piccy below of my current axle. Assume I need the 9mm option from Superstar than rather than the QR option?

Stans Flows on Pro II's, taken a right beating and still straight :D Excellent combination for wheels.
