I thought this would be the best thread to ask in.
I dislocated my shoulder on Monday by sliding on black ice so I'm looking at some protection for the icy winter months.
I'm looking for something that doesn't feel too obtrusive and cheap as possible.
Anybody tried this? - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=72485
Seems to get good reviews but any suggestions welcome.

I use one of these, you can't tell you're wearing it and neither can anyone else.
I doubt any armour will stop dislocations or breaks, they generally just take the edge off the impacts..

Lyrik RC2DH Solo Air, cant decide whether or not to have them lowered to 160mm.
Now I want a Monarch Plus to go with it though.

As Jim said, no armour will stop you dislocating a shoulder, stop you breaking an arm or even pulling a ligament.

Armour will only stop the scrapes, cuts, bruises and the like.

Anyway - finally just about there.

Full new cables (gear and rear brake) needed so that took some time as well. Just about there - still not quiet happy with the front mech as no matter how much mucking around I've done, it not sitting quiet right.

Rear suspension still has to be properly set (that could be fun having done some reading!)

But porn pictures for the time being.

Anyone running a shadow rear mech?? Any difference?

I think the graphics and huge amount of measurements on those bars make them look gopping tbh, similar theme to how they decorate their factory bikes with the decals, hope everywhere.

The grips look good though!

I like the idea of supporting a British manufacturer and whenever i have had a problem with Hope they have been great on the phone putting me through to the correct guys.

I was very impressed with there support and friendliness making me much more likely to buy from them.

Yes, it's super quiet with and without the clutch enabled. I've yet to have the chain come off, only done 2 rides but Sunday's was down some pretty rough stuff which would have had the chain off within seconds on my other bike (XT Mech).

Gear changes feel slightly stiffer with the clutch enabled, that isn't a bad point for me, it's just different.

Speaking of WANT

Have now signed up as a dealer and will be reselling them... wonder if I'll be able to resist getting one for myself to try :D

Reselling them?

What are Evil up to these days, are they manufacturing the Undead in anything like large quantities yet? Their website hasn't been updated since 2009 :( It'd be ace if they were a bit more popular.

I loved my Sovereign and wish they'd update it with a tapered headtube.

In a nutshell, they have changed factories entirely and have moved to one of the best in the far east for carbon manufacturing.

Plenty of Undead frames now available, after they have already sent replacements to all their Revolt warranty claims.

I'm dying to get hold of an Uprising!

First hand experience of the Uprising?
Would love to hear more about them, they look slightly short in the W/B for my liking, but that might just mean I'll opt for the size L.
