With how skint I am, I think I would be daft to not buy them. For less than £30 I can have pair. That's crazy value considering the reviews they've had!

Anyone else feeling snow hate? Been away for the week doing my cytech level 2, back this weekend and snow pretty much ruins chances of fun, what can't we have some sun?

Definitely, went out this morning but couldn't even get the car (4x4) to where we wanted to ride.

Everyone said anywhere worth riding was the same so we gave up and came home :(

Just ordered a pair of the Smorgasboards, and the £20+ saving will get me a fresh pair of much needed brake pads, lovely! :D

Heading back to finish my training in London again tomorrow night, squeezed a massive 3 hours of riding in this week which is shocking, however after having all plans this weekend axed due to snow I have been looking at videos, the new Evil bikes vid for the uprising is something else.

Enjoy

I'm gonna order sometime tomorrow, and I also need some brake pads! :P Can't decide whether to buy superstar/uberbike or formula pads :S

Planning on servicing the bike properly in April / May when the snow has pretty much gone.
Plan on doing the forks so guessing i'll need the 32mm RockShox Refresh Service Kit (not done these before, forks are RS Sektor air )
Brake pads replacing any recommendations on Kevlar Compound from superstar? Brakes are shimano Deore
Shortening of front brake hose and bleeding of brakes (already have the kit for this)
Change gear cable
Replace chain and cassette
Replace pedals with some serviceable ones.
Service the hope rear hub as it's about 5 years or older, alternatively grab a new wheel, could do with a lighter tubeless one (any recommendations? Stick to hope?
Will be taking a look at the front ring to see if it needs replacing as it's a good few years old
The rear shock is a Fox DHX5 coil, any idea how you service these and the intervals? It's 2nd hand and not sure if it's been services previously.

Any thing i've missed off? or tips?

I went for the Uberbike Race Matrix pads, getting a set of Avids for my FS, and a set of Formulas for the HT, sent them an email and they're letting me mix and match on the 4 set deal! :)

I've got a set of sintered superstar pads on my elixir 5's and so far (about 4 months of use) they see, to be as good or better than the stock avid ones. When reading reviews on the superstar site for the pads, its either love or hatred for them!

Hoping i like them as i'll most likely get the4 sets on special offer.

I've taken a look at a guide on servicing the rear shock and it's something i'm not comfortable doing at all so will get someone to do it. TF Tuned can service it for pretty much £100 or can have it push tuned which is £160ish, is what TF tuned worth the extra bit of money? Hoping once it's done i wont have to touch it for at least another year or two.
Either this or get an air shock which look a lot easier to service so may save me some money in the long run (Fox CTD Factory shock is £320ish)

Very conflicted, been waiting for this bike so long... and now that I can have it I feel I can't justify it, because I'm loving the steel ht so much.

Hey ladies and gents,

I'm off back to being a student again from this September and so am going to be dirt poor. I've been thinking about investing in a bike to cut my travel costs and so save me about £50 a week. My journey will be approx 16 miles each way 4 days a week into central London.

I'm looking for some recommendations on something half decent to ride in about the £350 range. I want to get it sooner rather than later so that I can get used to riding it and hopefully be able to participate in some summer sunshine rides.

Please let me know your thoughts :)
