Lovely lovely bike! But you've actually raped it with those hideous bars!
Get a direct mount stem and some superstar bars PLEASE! :D
You should be hung for such crimes!

cheers for the opinions!
Prefer the looks of the new ones but walking in them is ideal as i tend to walk up the climbs! Will get the older ones :)

Lastly whats the sizes like? I'm size 10 in all my trainers, if they're tight fitting i'll get 10 n 1/2

I got my normal size. Done up tight they're perfect. A bit sloppy if you just tuck your laces in.

Right guys... Bars have been replaced! I see the light, 740mm, so wider than the eastons at least same rise and sweep, like night and day! I am not afraid to admit when I'm wrong!

What amazed me the most today is how much damper technology has advanced:eek:
The control, the feel, I can't believe how confidence inspiring the bike felt, I'm a happy man.

As for the brakes... Less said the better, and the black line at Grizedale is hardly long or challenging, I'd hate to take them on a proper DH track, power isn't a problem however fade is.
However the next time I hit the trails, I'll have proper brakes.

Tbh i don't think i've seen anyone on a dh bike at grizedale before. Seen qute a few tackle the black on hardtails.

Good man, I'm guessing you got the Renthal lights?
nah not renthals yet, i'll be getting some renthal fatbar bar in 30mm rise next month, after the first run down, i had a chat with the bike shop people and just decided to get some cheap syncros dh/freeride bars as a stop gap to do me as they didnt do renthal, so it was either that or raceface in the shop and i wasnt keen on the feel of the raceface bars, just didnt find them comfortable.

Where do you find brake mount bolts?? I need some bolts approx 60mm in length with the relevant washers to attached thru the brake and adapter/mount to the frame.

If you buy the adapater/mount you seem to get the bolts with it but in this case I have the mounts but no bolts!

Theres nothing special about the bolts? They are just standard M6 bolts that you can buy from any hardware shop/website.

Took the Devilles out for a ride to Swinley Forest. Damn these forks are good! I still need to find the right settings but after a bit of playing around I was enjoying them.

My BB is worn out though. Its just an SLX, Can you refurb/replace the bearings or shall I buy a new one? Was thinking of a Hope ceramic?
