Supercow never took you for a fanboy! Can't hate the hopes they have been flawless for a year, just fancy a change.

Makes perfect sense. Small Tracer 2's look better than Mediums. FACT!

Incorrect, the Tracer 2 is an awful bike and can not look good.

Hopeless brakes more like. Not a fanboy (there are plenty of other brakes I like), just a "hater" of Hopeless brakes.

Cow I need some advice, whats Aston Hill like? All I've seen make it look fun, but it's a push up right? If so how bad is it? Was booked onto the Bala uplift, but that has been cancelled due to forestry work, and all other uplifts are full this close to the day.

And fair enough, personally Hopes have been excellent brakes on every bike I've ridden, my hates are Avid, Formula and top of the list Ashima.

Depends mate, its all relative.

You get about 10 runs in a day, if you're going for it and relatively fit. The push is quite fun, because most of the time when its filled with locals, theres a lot of banter on the way up, so not boring ;)

I should however caveat that with saying that its pretty crappy in the wetas we tend not to get deep mud, but slippery snot on off camber roots.

Recently treated myself to a fancy Thule roof rack and bike carrier.

First trip out and I'm distracted by the dog chewing my car interior, pull in to a car park and wallop :(

Damaged car, damaged bike, damaged rack :( :( :(

Ouch :( Bad?

Just got one myself, away to try it out...

No pics I'm afraid, too mortified, had said to the wife an hour before how terrified I was of forgetting the load on top.

Forks took the initial blow, some scratches on my stanchions :( Rack seems ok but the 591 carrier is all bent, then a 6 inch scratch to my car roof where the carrier dug in.

Expensive lesson :(

You're not the first. 2 of my mates have done this, one of them twice. It's part of the reason I like to keep my bikes inside the car.

Doesn't sound too bad, the bike ok?

Is this on the Z? :/

My trip went well, thankfully!

Does anyone know where you can get cable clamps for a specilized? Broke a few of mine :/
