Not ridden an Ariel 16x, have ridden a 14x and of course my mega and prefer the mega... obviously not identical bikes really though...

On a side note got the XTR Trails and had the first ride with them last saturday at cannock, they're good so far! Very different to the hopes in terms of lever feel and power but overall felt a bit quicker on the downs because of them.

Love the XX1, cant believe how quiet it is, lovely smooth and rapid shifting. Not one dropped chain either. Nice ratios on the cassette as well no massive jumps.
I'm so glad to be rid of the front mech, always hated them.

I have just ordered the XX1 groupset and cant wait to fit it to my build. From what I've heard its so smooth and free running. Still unsure whether to get a chain guide/bashgaurd

No need if your using a wide/narrow chainring ;)

I've gave mine a bit of a battering and I can't see it slipping ever.

A few months back i got myself a Cannondale flash 29er and love the thing. Ive not touched my enduro in about 4 months until this evening. The flash is quick and great fun not to mention the lefty fork which is bloody brilliant :)

I had a quick blast on the enduro this evening and its a slog in comparison to the flash. I know its never going to be as quick as a XC bike......Im thinking of ditching the Dampfs to try and quicken it up a tad.

I know a few of you use specialized tyres and heard good things. What combo should i be looking at front and rear and which compound version to go for? Want something grippy and a fast roller but ideal for the upcoming winter months.

Cheers

I would personally always run a bashguard, one rock strike and you could wreck that nice chain and/or chainring.

Man I would do some bad stuff for this:

I have demoed the Flash 29er. It's not my cup of tea but I can appreciate why you like it.

From riding my Blur and T2 my advice would be to keep the Enduro for the gnarlier trails. Keep it well built.

If you enjoy all your trails the same or more on the Flash...sell the Enduro.

Does the mech stop the chain from slapping in the smallest cog at the rear rob? My friends zee mech clutch isnt as ground breaking as i thought it would be but ive heard sram do a much better job.

Yep, chain length is as in the picture i put up a few days ago, and its perfect. It certainly seems to be better than my previous SLX mech. I think with the way the mech moves the chain just cant move around that much unless you have shifted. The smooth shifting comes from this as well, the top jockey wheel stays very close to the cassette in all gears, unlike a traditional mech.
