Bars are turned towards me slightly making them look closer to my knees. I'm 6'2".

OMG I'm 6'2 and built like a brick poop tent. I must make bikes look like toys. I must look more absurd than you!

The knowledge!!!!! The horror!!!!!

Anybody have any suggestions for a cheap GPS tracker? Have used my phone with Endomondo for years but the current phone I think is on it's last legs so am looking for something to use, possibly just short term until I change phone (I guess it depends how well it performs :p).

I'm not interested in the all singing all dancing GPS devices, which tends to be what I keep coming across when searching, I just want something simple that can be thrown in my camelbak to tell me distance, time etc at the end of a ride... Having it show maps when uploaded to a computer would be nice (like with Endomondo) but not essential.

Ideally I'll be using it for jogging too so nothing too big is possible.

Anybody use anything like this or know of anything? I'd appreciate being pointed in the right direction if so :)

If you are just going to leave it in your bag and only want to see the data after you are finished and plugged into your computer, you could probably get a gps logger pretty cheap. Dont know much about that sort of thing though.

For devices with a screen that you can see the data in real-time, garmin is the best bet. An edge200 is best for cycling, one of the watch style things suggested above is better for running (but both can be adapted to work with whatever you're doing)

phone GPS isnt the most reliable, i recently did a strava track with a garmin 800 and iphone 5s and the comparing the route line the 5s is waving all over the place. added a load of distance on as a result etc.

I picked up a Garmin Edge 205 for £50 a few years back. Comes with bar mount, etc and works like a cycle computer, however does all the gps logging you could need, location, speed, elevation, etc and with the right add-on will record cadence too.

Looks like they go for about £30-40 on ebay at the minute, or you could pick up the Edge 200 which is (strangely) the latest version for £80 new.

It's irrelevant in this case as the guy who asked only wants a basic logger, but I'll point out for other's reference that the edge 200/205 doesnt work with a cadence sensor.

Thanks very much for the info guys :)

I haven't had the best luck finding a purely GPS logging device that wasn't close to the price of the Garmin stuff or that had a decent amount of information and reviews...

I did find one on Maplin's site which might do the job but not sure if it's worth spending the extra for the one of the Garmin ones instead.

The Forerunner 10 and the Edge 200 both look like they would do the job (although perhaps also do more than needed :p). I prefer cycling to running so I'd think the edge might be better but i'm not sure i really need it on my handlebars or anything like that and might not be as easy to run in, so perhaps the watch would prove better

I was happy just using my phone for logging rides but wanted something to track my parents dogs to see what sort of distances they covered. The cheapest basic loggers I managed to find were about £30 from China and I couldn't be sure of the reliability. I ended up picking up a Bryton rider 20 for about £20 on ebay and liked it enough I bought another one to use on my road bike.
