Had a bad fall last night. Log came from nowhere. Jumped it but position was all wrong, over the handlebars slid bout 10 ft. Knocked myself out.

All fine now. face has taken a bit of a beating and a bit of gravel rash down one side. Helmet certainly helpeds. Could have been much worse. Not bad for my first crash lol

Pics, we need pics!

Not a bad effort. I had similar injuries about 9 years ago. OTB which resulted fractured eye socket, crushed cheek bone and teeth through my bottom lip. Still to this day don't know what happened exactly

Only ything which scares me slightly is that in order to get a better rider I need to practice on stuff like this.

Seems like a visceous circle when I gonna end up like this again and again and again.lol

Not good, I was close to eating a face full of stumps and glass yesterday when I tried a massive huck and didnt see the root on the landing. I landed so hard I bottom my forks out and blew my feet off the pedals and bent my seat while riding down the rest of the track on the front wheel.. So close! Accidents happen, its mountain biking, just gotta dust your self off and hit if faster

Good work dude, proper welcome to the thread :D
Top tip - that we all struggle with. Get that monkey off your back asap and don't ride tentatively when you're back on it.

Good effort! As the Cow says, make sure you don't let it scare you.

I had a bad crash at the start of last month in France but the second thing I did (after making sure I wasn't bleeding out my face) was get up and do the section again (before sitting the rest of the day...and week out)

How was the ride? Tempted to just get yellow, not been on a bike in 5 months now. Just want to ride!

Very balanced in terms of component choice: there are no weaknesses. It was brand new so it had that totally dialled in feel.

The only surprise to me was how twitchy the steering was. I'm not sure of that was because there was not enough sag but the steering was veeery light. It didn't ruin the ride or anything, it was just surprising and you had to adapt how much you muscled the bike.

I really liked it because of how the package was balanced.

I'm still mulling what hard tail I want. Shan, Stanton, commencal, bird.

Nice!

I assume you just jumped on and never checked the pressure of the fork?

I've decided to go with the bird now that the aerie has been announced, transferring everything over should be a doddle down the line and the fork is adjustable to 150/160.

I also priced up all the components for the AM model, comes to about £1600 Iirc, though I wasn't seeking bargains. Add the frame into that and it really is a bargain.

Roadies really do bring it upon themselves. If they think they can get away with cheating, they sure are going to try.

This really takes it to the next level.

ps: I realise that this probably does not qualify as unequivocal proof of motor assisted Roadbikes, but a bike that comes to a dead halt, and then speeds up is pretty damming in my eyes.

The bike falls, stops, then spins itself round in a circle ... I think the assumption is that the rear wheel is powered by a motor.

Haha, maybe you should take up road biking?
I think you've fallen off your MTB and hit your head too many times.

Oh wait a sec i think i see what hes getting at here, when the the rear wheel eventually hits the ground it continues rotating into the path of the motorbike, but are you sure the wheel initially ever stopped rotating? its almost impossible to tell from the poor quality video, the momentum of the wheel spinning could have carried on until the rider eventually parts company with the bike when the rear wheel clearly is in contact with the ground it does seem to pick up speed before being run over.

I wouldnt imagine theres anything wrong there, but i guess its possible.
