Giant is my old bike, yea got a good few tracks kicking around here. I dont do much XC mind you! Not too far from me, we should go for a blast up Afan one weekend! :D

I'm looking to build up an Intense SS hopefully - or an SX Trail! Aye def - I'm not accomplished in the air mind you - which I expect you are with a DH bike :D But I'll give it a shot :D

Bar ends question

Got a set of Cube barends for my Acid yesterday. Just wanted to give myself an alternative position for my hands on the bars.

Anyway, having pretty much no knowledge of fitting these things, I had a look at 'em today. From what I've read online, best plan for a neat fit is to use a craft knife to cut off the ends of the grips. did that, nice and trim. :)

Now, when it comes to fitting these things are they supposed to be angled "inwards" towards the wheel if you like or "outwards" away from the wheel?.

Lastly, what sort of angle would you recommend they be placed at from looking "side on"?. Approx 45 degree?. Or is that personal preference?.

A few pics to help illustrate what I mean :-

Well, spent the last hour fitting the Cube with some goodies from Chain Reaction.

Cube RFR bar ends.
Cube chainstay protector.
Specialized Mini Wedgie with an EMT.
Crud Catcher front and rear in white.

Will probably rue the day I decided on white crud catchers but they match the rest of the bike ( for now :p ).

Crappy iPhone pic.

Correct, it's Ambrosia. Ichabod crane in the background below. I have to apologise, I tried to obscure all his head by the seat and failed. :(

We rode Pitfichie XC and DH. Then went over to Benachie and rode some of the trail there. Still a bit of snow in places. I went in past my knees at one point. A few fallen trees over some parts of the trail too from the storms we had a few weeks ago. Still a good day's riding though.

It will be a couple of months at least before I head back to Wales Crankbro. I'm up for an XC meet though. Glentress?

Ok a technical question from me regarding fork Rebound. Right ive finally felt well enough to fit my 06 MX pro ETA-TAS forks and get them setup, but on setting the forks rebound not a lot is happening at all, turn it decrease the rebound all i get is a squelchy sound but no real slowness, and + rebound the sound goes away and they are the same pogo stick movement. Now my thoughts at some point maybe the oil levels were changed and not enough put in but im not sure - Adding more air pressure to that leg doesnt make a blind bit difference either (not that it would just getting the facts out).

So atm i have pogo stick forks - Any ideas people?
