finally got my new road bike together and taken it out for a test run - seems to be all working nicely although I do need a bit more practice with the look pedals, not having the best time getting into them!

needs some fettling to get everything setup right - the saddle is a little low and i need to change the bar angle.

only did a quick 2.5m run but managed to top out at 24.6mph without too much effort (on a compact double)

Can anyone recommend a decent fork lube for my Tora's? (for round the seals to help them run smoothly)
Red Rum is tough stuff to find in stock, and quite expensive. At the moment I just use a touch of the wet lube I use on my chain

Ive done that before, just use very little, pull back the seal on one area and drop some in and do it again opposite and cycle the forks up and down and wipe any excess off.

The new bike just arrived home!

Based on the Kinesis Superlight TK2 frame and carbon forks, basically a 105 with some upgrades in certain areas. The colour is just gorgeous in the flesh!

Now need to fit the panniers, cycle computer and bed in these, the first batch the shop had managed to get in.

DON'T PUT WET LUBE ON YOUR FORKS!

Normal lube will get sticky and crap will stick to it ya numpty - you can ruin your seals :p

Ive never had a problem, hence why i said as little as possible and not very often, most fork seals have an outer and inner, just a drop on the outer will not do any harm and hasnt to any of mine, i maybe do mine every 6 months or so, with 1 drop either side and work it around by cycling the forks.
