I've tried a Trance X4 which I really liked. Geometry was great and speed was ace on the trail. The only thing that let the X4 down for me was a weak fork.....I have an older Tora 318 Solo Air on my Hardtail and it was much better than the Tora on the X4. Not sure what particular Tora it was though...

can anyone reccomend some chain lube thats not expensive but not cheapo, stuff.

around £5-£10 is possible (unless this is cheapo territory).

bike is a hardtail.

Trance X4 won mbrs £1000 FS test this month too.

I posted a video a few days ago of one with a rather burly build being ridden quite well :D

Juice Lubes Chain Juice is decent stuff. Stays on quite well.
Think it's about £7
I've also used Finish Line Wet with good results

tora 302s on the X4 iirc, thats what put me off the 4 and towards the 3 :)

I found the standard dry one a bit rubbish, needed reapplying every few miles.

Got a sample of Squirt that I've put on my rockhopper to try, and so far it seems really good, although I haven't been able to do any miles on it yet.

Had to cancel my France/Morzine trip coz of my broken arm, and for circumstances beyond my control cant go in June/Early August :(

.... although

WAHOOOOOO

I just realised Verbier is open till mid October and it's supposed to be the absolute ****, even better than Morzine/Les gets!!!!
Aiming to Go early September, well happy now!

Order status online? Phone them for an update?

I'm trying to avoid buying a 2010 Marzocchi 66 RC3 Ti 1.5, to replace my '07 66 RC2X. My wallet doesn't approve of my current spending habits :(

Been working through all their open hours for past 2 days, and online it just says "Order successful", which was what it said about 5 hours after I made it.

Will ring them tomorrow because I'm fed up of waiting.

Anyone else ordered from Evans Cycles and had problems? I ordered a week ago and still no sign of my goods, need them soonish too :(

I ordered some bits and pieces from them a while back and they took nearly 3 weeks to be delivered.

The worst part is that they said on their site that the item was in stock and i then received an email saying my goods had been despatched the day after ordering.

When i chased them up they said that some of my items were not in stock, i said that they should not have taken payment until they had the items in stock and they then pointed me towards their T&C's which says ....Please note: All Website and Mail Order payments are taken in full at the point of purchase regardless of stock.

I wont deal with them again.

I'm still using the narrow pedals that came with my MTB and it's time for some new ones. Mainly for road riding but some toepath. My feet are quite and i'd like pedals that give decent grip, not too deep and preferably servicable. Budget is around £30-40.

I know that the Wellgo MG1 pedals are well thought of so that's one option. I could probably get those for under £25 but another one that has been recommended is the Onza Hognesium which i can get for £29.

Any thoughts or other options please?
