Thanks for the votes on the nano flats fellas! I will be ordering them in black. They were supposed to be back in stock tomorrow but the due date has changed to next week. Grrrrr!! :)
 
Hey guys,

Anyone here had any experience with the 2010 Giant Faith?

I have a shortlist of bikes which I may be interested in getting one of this year. Dependent on supplier stock. Wanting something more for drops jumps and general playing around and pootling on.

Specialized SX Trail I or II

Giant Faith 0

Giant Reign X1 or X2

Sizing is hard to work out, currently ride a S/M Commencal Supreme DH before that I had a short Furious CG, which sort of equate to the above bikes in small on paper, but I am being told go for a medium (but I dont want a 17" xc size seat tube :rolleyes:). Aparently the medium Faith is short but I thought the medium Glory was like an XC sized 17" with a bit more length than the Supreme?

I am 5'8 have been on the Reign X briefly last year and can't remember what size, found the medium SX ok on a short run but not as compact feeling as the Furious and a wee bit bigger and slacker than the Supreme DH. As an example of specialized recommended sizeing I tried the small and medium Enduro and thought the medium like an 18 and a bit large for play biking so to speak.

Got no idea here LOL :)

Edit: My current XC bike is a Marin full sus Rift Zone SE size small which I want rid of as I don't use it, n the other I like but it is not the most suited to blasting around the woods n jumps etc on,

The Marin Quad XC is a fantastic bike for swoopy xc singletrack and is quick for its weight, but point it down hill and it sucks.
The SX Trail is a totally different bike. I guy I rode with a few times had one and he really struggled on the climbs with it. To be fair he did use it for full on DH too. It was his "do it all bike".
Giant...meh..never been a fan of them

You seem to cross a few disciplines there. I hear the Santacruz Heckler's are versatile in this area. ;)
 
Got a nice surprised today, ordered some 2010 Kyle Strait's from my LBS, went to pick them up and it turns out the 2011 ones got delivered instead, win :D
 
Anyone know where I can find replacement dropout hangers for a GT Force? Want to replace my QR hangers with bolt through to toughen the bike up a little as I'm hitting bigger drops/jumps now. Not ready to commit to a DH bike just yet!
 
Finally made a decision, picked up new bike today!! Cnt wait to get down to Cwmcarn on the weekend!!
