maybe add 1/4 tsp of salt in the camelbak, works for me :) maybe a banana or two 20 mins before the start too.

Good call. I was thinking about that electrolyte powder but i don't really want it to taste of anything.

Put some ice cubes in there too! (your camelback, not your shorts) :p

Thanks :) I always fill up the camelbak with ice before putting the water in. I think i may also put some in my shorts though as wearing padded ones feels like wearing a nappy as it is!! :D

I've heard about that drop! :) Saw a photo as well, it looks huge!

I hadn't considered Elgin to be honest, might be a good one to test the waters :)

Wildcat tonight though :D
nice :)
im waiting for a new crankset to turn up before i can get out and test my nano tech flats :(
threaded my old truvativ set :(
as for oakwoods there is a lot of DH lines throughout but you would need to be shown as most of them are awkward to get to without knowing where they are

not seen any pics of Malty for awile,

Mmmm Matey goodness, :D

I've still got mine, great bike, even better with a decent saddle.
I suffered for 18 month with the OEM WTB saddle and only recently got a SDG Bel Air RL.

The difference is unreal, I can now ride all day :)

I love Orbea bikes. Look very classy and not many of them out there :) Nice bike! Bet you're chuffed.

Absolutely. Solid as concrete and light as a feather. Definitely recommended, although their sizing is a little odd. That's a 51cm frame and my cyclefit session sized me up as a 55.5 in traditional BB to top tube dimensions.

Bit of advice needed here!!

I'm cycling in the London Bikeathon on Sunday and the forecast temperature is 30°C. Apart from a Camelbak, padded shorts and wicking cycling shirt is there anything that you would recommend i take with me for the 26 mile ride to make it more bearable? I'll be putting some sun cream on and wearing sunglasses too.

Don't wear suntan lotion above your eyes. When you sweat it will run into your eyes and sting like buggery.

Make sure you take a puncture kit for Richmond Park, they are resurfacing at the moment and it's covered in gravel.

We're doing the city route starting and finishing in Chelsea but i'll be taking a spare inner tube and a repair kit with me anyway. Thanks :)

How much do you guys think I should be selling this lot for?:

Vagrant Frame (2006) medium - satin black.
Fox 36 TALAS RC2 (2009) (these have done less than 300 miles, probably less than 200)
Cane Creek Double X headset with new bearings and seals and spare crown race
Blackspire Stinger
Endura chainstay protector
RaceFace Diabolous 1.5" 50mm stem
RaceFace Diabolous 710mm x 25.4mm bars
RaceFace Diabolous 30mm x 350mm seatpost

I seem to be generating no interest whatsoever on BR or SDH. I'm probably asking far too much but I really don't know what I should be asking. :(

Also: someone has a beasty Heckler for sale in my size on BR for a crazy bargain price if anyone's interested.

yeah i started with the bel air, tried a few others for awile and they were okay but not as comfy as the bel air. just gave malty a coat of super resin wax polish stuff, looks brand new again well actually better heh :)

It's about the same as most bikes at the price point and the frame is nice but it depends on what you keep breaking.

Wheels won't be mad strong, chainset could do to be better but I can't see what else you can kill on it.

Stripped the frame of DA 7800 components, most the components arrive today (Di2 shifters, DI2 RD, FD)

Tomorrow the rest arrive....7900 crankset and brakes...shall I post pics of the equipment? :D

:D

In between working from home and finishing stripping the bike. Finally got the FSA BBs off (they were near impossible to get off), 7900 BBs on, one more sti to remove, then ill mount the new STIs.

TOmorrow I get the rest - chainset and brakeset so I can actually put it together.

First time I am doing some "advanced" fettling. Finding it quite easy so far...

Devil is in the detail. Time to fit rear mech; 5 minutes. Time to correctly set-up gears; weeks.

the setting up of the mechs looks fairly easy compared to mechanical mechs, it has an electronic adjusting mode which makes adjusting an absolute doddle.

cant proceed farther today anyway, got the STIs on, waiting on brakes and chainset which come tomorrow to actually get it working.

After having my Specialized hardrock sport disc for over a month now i feel i may need to get some slicker tyres. My daily ride involves nothing but 100% road and footpath. Any recommendation?

Also my bike is due for its 6 week free service but its a bit of a pain getting it back to evans, can i do this myself?

Cheers.
