On another topic - has anyone used bike tape before? (I know IC does...) - Where would be the best place to apply bike tape on my Enduro and what size would you lot recommend? Too many choices :p

Wait till you have the bike and then you can measure the width of the tubes, but chances are 7.5-10cm will be fine.

I taped up the underside of the downtube, the top of the top tube and the back of the seat tube as these are the high impact areas... I guess you will need to unclip the cables from the downtube to get at it easier on the Enduro...

If I was spending that much money on a bike, I would be taping the whole frame, rear ARM and fork TBH...

Spend all that money on a snazzy to save a few grams of weight, then go and put it all back on with tape and cloth protection ;)

[I would do the same :o]

Thanks for the suggestions chaps and lol at plastic dipping the frame - that would be the ultimate protection but surely it would make the bike a tonne weight!

I fired off an email to Biketape and they suggested 2m x 7.5cm so I've ordered that for now, it should be enough for the bottom of the down tube, top of the top tube and behind the seatpost. I'll use the offcuts to do the cable rub areas, that was the biggest PITA on my Pitch, totally ruined the top of the forks :(

FINALLY my LTD company was vetted and I'm now finally signed up as a Morewood dealer.
Website making progress also and I should be up n running in a couple of weeks :)

If any of you lot/riding buddies want a bike, then quote "Itchycrotch is a girl" for a big discount!

nice one - congrats

The Santacruz paint is rubber based. It's great for people who bounce their bikes off rocks quite often! :o

So the plastic dipping isn't such a silly idea.....no actually it is. lol

And....

I used the 15cm thick stuff for my forks and 7.5 for the frame.

Also I'd recommend wrapping your seatstays and non-drive side chainstay, it's easy to do due to the shape of most seat/chainstays and will protect against rub from your shoes as well as general chips.

any recommendations for a decent rear wheel?
Had my current one at the LBS as it wasn't true and it's

"not in great shape but still ok to ride"

Doesn't fill me with confidence as I have a 2 day Torridon/Ft William trip coming up.

Just need something that'll stand up to some hard XC/Trail riding. Not sure on budget but I've been quoted £100 for a Trek wheel....The Shimano XT comes in about the same

Can get a wheelset for £160 at Superstar.
