Big Bike Thread

Finally got the chance to ride my bike tonight after the wheel and brake issues. Very smooth and very nippy.

However, I'm not comfortable with the flat bars (kind of knew I wouldn't be) and I'm looking at replacing them with some riserbars. Can anyone recommend some decent bars? There's so many to choose from!

Not sure on budget really so let's say £50...ish

My local showing was put on by my MTB club so any money raised goes straight to trailbuilding etc in my area and then I went out afterwards with all my riding buddies.

Would I drive any distance to watch it on my own, probably not when I could buy it for a similar price.

IM still scarred, thread needs degaying

Not a biking pic, but whos complaining?

Biking degay pics..

Dirty girl..

Anyone have issues with CRC website not updating the order status? mine says processing even when i placed the order on friday :( both items still show instock too.

I ordered some stuff last week and got the dispatch e-mail a few minutes after I got the parcel :D

Excellent Andi.. Ive also Facebook stalked her ;)
Tell you what... she will show some DHers a thing or two!

And also - case in point, Woman in lycra = a good thing
Men in Lycra = a bad thing

I was shocked to see rust on my PC971 chain. I felt that I had been neglecting my bike and thought I better clean it, then I looked at the rest of my bike and thought....meh.

The KMC 'missing link' is almost identical to the Sram power link. Just as easy to remove as Sram's version. How rust proof a chain is depends on the model and how well...or not....you look after it. You can get away with murder with a PC991 but the PC971 takes a little care.

Thanks again :) I went for the PC991 Cross-step in the end from wiggle for £25; it seems to get pretty good reviews. I don't ride a huge amount so hopefully it will last me a year or two.

theyre really slow !

my last few orders have taken 4/5 days to arrive :( i remember when it used to be next day when they said next day.

anyone recomend a seat pack? just needs to carry a tube or two, small tool, c02 pump and a few spare canisters...

Would prefer it to be quick release (for commuting) and have a light loop :)

Specialized Mini Wedgie. I have one on my road bike and my MTB.

£11.99 for the 2010 model on it's own :-

Plenty room inside, I have a spare tube, puncture repair kit and patches, tyre levers, mini tool and CO2 pump plus a spare CO2 cartridge and there's still room left for more. But at the same time it is quite small and compact so you hardly notice it there.

Or £26.99 for the pack that comes complete with an EMT Sport mini tool and a pack of Flat Boy patch kit. Really good value considering the price of an EMT on it's own :-
