i feel for you, having a toy and not being able to play with.
what did you get?

Its a Ribble Alu framed Road bike with carbon rear stays and full Campagnolo Veloce.

Will get some photos once I've put it the few bits together but all I could manage today is lifting it into the back of the car :(

New Brakes and wheels on.

Estimated weight (with Superstar pedals that I am still waiting on) is 29.5lbs

I'll have to shave a bit of the Fork post mount as the floating rotors rub against it. It was never a problem with the Hope Hub but I have heard of issues with some other hubs. No big deal really.

Nice SP hubs weescott :)

For some reason - my brakes (Avid juicy 7's) have been real non-responsive lately. They're nothing like I imagined them. Still plenty of life left in them. Just never "bite".

I'll give them a good bleed (again) tonight after work. I also tried to scuff them up a bit on some sandpaper as they were quite smooth. Not much of an improvement.
No contamination of the pads or disc. Both have been soaked in Disc Cleaner recently.
Any ideas?

You do know that not every colour on your bike has to match the local granite :p

Are you actually running tubeless Scott? Or are those tires just tubeless compatible?

If you are; how long do they stay sealed before they need re-setting up? I'm considering it now I've got these new rimz.

Similar thing on my Juicy3's, bled them 3 times so far with no improvement, also scuffed them and rebed them in and still take an age to stop.

It would appear that I put an inch long gash in the sidewall of one of my tyres at Llandegla, so now I need to pick up another. I've been running Nevegal DTC 2.35s all round but have been considering something slightly different up front for balance, any thoughts? I'm thinking a Blue Groove or a Nevegal Stick-E, but just wondering if anyone had tried any similar combos?

Couldnt wait, so have gone and ordered a blue groove dtc! blue groove up front, nevegal at the back, looking forward to seeing how it performs!

stunning looking weescott... mr crane is just jelous you actually have wheels
Thanks. lol, mr crane is just upset that I didn't opt for pink Chris King hubs.

They are UST wheels and tyres. I don't have my track pump here, and trying to mount UST tyres with a minipump ain't gonna happen! So I put in tubes for now.

That's what I ran a while back. Good combo if a little heavy.

had another bad crash the other day! just jumping off kerbs and got a little high and the bike went one way and i went the other way straight into a wall! i had a beany on which took some cushion when my head bounced off the wall and end of my little finger was hanging off! then i checked my bike and the brake lever was hanging, popped it back in but was a little wobbly and i soon found out i popped the washer so had to order one! gutted really cause the weather is so nice here at the moment and really wanna go for some rides :(

Just seen this on Evans website:

http://www.evanscycles.com/help/30-day-test-ride
Just buy any BMC, Fuji, Pinnacle or Viva bike online or through our call centre before the end of June and you're automatically eligible for our 30 Day Online Test Ride.

What condition can I return a bike in?

Used please! The 30 Day Online Test Ride is all about you using your new bike and making sure you’re happy with it. All we ask is that bikes are returned clean and in fair condition - by fair condition we mean the bike should only have a minimal level of wear and tear you would expect from a 30 day old bike, and no broken bits.

Bikes must be returned in their original specification.

Looks pretty good. If you don't want it then just package it back up and they pick it up for free.

Very tempted to go for a top spec mtb for around £1500 just to see the difference between that and my hardrock :p. I know it'd backfire and it'd get pinched or I'd deck it and then I'd be left with very empty pockets

The selection of MTBs is pretty limited though – I can only see one full susser and the spec looks pretty rubbish for the price

Supposed to be getting my bike tomorrow, phoned them today and they can't get it anymore apparently. They then knocked some money off a Trek Session 8 but would only sell me one in small (Because it was in the store) at a heavily discounted price which is a bit useless since I'm 6'1-2.

So now I'm going back to the store to get my deposit bcak tomorrow and I'm back on the bike hunt again.

**** sake.

In comparison to? 2.1s? Or a different tyre combo?

I like the volume of the nevegals, particularly being on a hardtail, which is what made me stick with Kenda. Tyre choice always seems to be a difficult one though.

The only similar tyres I can compare are the Continental Mountain King Supersonics (2.4 and 2.2), although the Protection versions might be a better comparison. They are more expensive but better in the wet/mud and faster than the Kenda's.

Dont want to insult you, but are you bleeding them properly? Avids are quite tricky to bleed and have to be done properly

Ha went out to Rivington on Sunday, got about half way down the rocky road and wussed out lol.

Man that descent way exceeds my abilities and I'm not too ashamed to admit that I suck :)
Felt like a right plank wheeling my bike down the last part. But then it is a hard tail with 100mm travel on the front and I had no gloves that day :(

Was surrounded with guys in full face, armour all sorts with some serious looking bikes!
But I had a nice pleasant day out :)

Just need to give my bike a good clean now.

It is a seriously rocky descent! Nothing to feel bad about pushing, most people will struggle with that. I've never managed a full run down without pushing at least a bit.
