Big Bike Thread

Yeah I've been pondering a Five for a while now, it's one of many options. I keep changing my mind! If I went with the Five then I'd likely just buy the frame then build it up - just wasn't aware you could fiddle the spec of the full bike if you bought direct from Orange.

At the moment due to lack of funds (I may have to live on my own for a year which is costly) I'm thinking about getting a Santa Cruz Superlight frame and just shifting all the bits off my current hardtail onto it.

Well they seem to get a top rating year after year from all major bike testers, I've test them in the past and find them a brilliant bike. They aren't the best at climbing although still good but point them down a rocky decent and you'll be amazed. It's all down to the rider really. But the frame is renown for its excellent build quality. And the best thing of all is its BRITISH, built in Halifax.

Where do you ride, that is also a big player in the choice of a bike?

Never EVER put something like this up again without a health warning.... Its bad enough in here with IC's shenanigans with the colour coding without that.... THING!! :p

Trek FX 7.3

Before I just had a generic ralleigh mountain bike, I picked up this with the intention of getting some exercise. Ive noticed I can "go further" now before I need a break, I also travel faster than before I think.

Basically just after some words that I've bought the right thing, thanks guys.

Got my new toy this week, Its not for any serious mountain biking, just for rides places i cant ride my road bike.
Just needs some Schwalbe Marathons and a Charge Spoon.

I also had a look at some boardman hybrids in halfords, I went to a bike shop in town and the guy there told us the ride of the boardmans would be very poor in gravel type stuff.

Anyone got any experiences with this bike range?

You say that now, but when you stumble upon some decent singletrack, you'll see the light, quit your job and spend your days riding trails in the woods.

Wrong thread... not the big bike thread, but the "Big-Bike thread" ... we here like to discuss big bikes, not thing that go on the road.

I want one, more to the point, I want 3 DH bikes, 2 FR bikes, 3 AM bikes and 1 XC bike.
Now to go and rob a milionaire :(

Sorry I thought the thread was a large gathering of things that have two wheels.

It is, all are welcome, most of the spandex gimp suit wearers can't stand our manliness though and went and made their own thread about immac and stuff. ;)
